Usage Warnings

Computer and Laptop Stands

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Laptop or computer falling due to instability, overloading or poor attachment, potentially damaging the device and injuring people.
  • Finger entrapment in hinges, springs or guides when adjusting or folding the stand.
  • Device overheating if ventilation grilles are blocked or there is insufficient airflow.
  • Trips or accidental tugs due to taut or poorly routed cables around the stand.
  • Deterioration of the adhesion of pads, suction cups or adhesives over time, reducing stability.
  • Damage to supporting surfaces due to slipping, vibrations or hard edges.
  • Impacts or collapse of articulated arms if released suddenly or with incorrect tension.
  • Postural discomfort from setting the device at an unsuitable height or angle for extended periods.
  • Risk from liquids near the stand, especially on bases with fans or electrical connections.

Safe use

  • Follow the recommended weight and size for the stand and place the device centrally to distribute the load.
  • Always use a flat, dry and stable surface; for clamp-type stands, secure only to firm edges with no play.
  • Check stability with your hands before letting go of the device; use stops or non-slip pads if available.
  • Keep the laptop’s ventilation grilles clear; avoid covering the device with cases or fabrics while it is on the stand.
  • Adjust height and tilt while holding the device and keeping fingers away from the joints; make slow, gradual movements.
  • Route cables with sufficient slack so they do not pull on the device or interfere with the stand’s movement.
  • If the stand uses adhesives or suction cups, clean and dry the contact surface and check adhesion with a light load before normal use.
  • Keep drinks and liquids away; in the event of a spill, remove the device and dry the area completely before using it again.
  • On stands with fans or ports, do not cover the air intakes/outlets and disconnect before cleaning.

Storage and maintenance

  • Periodically check screws, clamps, joints and non-slip pads; tighten or replace parts that show play or wear.
  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasives, solvents and sprays near electrical components.
  • Store the stand folded, with no weight on top and in a dry place, away from moisture and direct heat that could deform plastics or degrade rubber components.
  • Regularly check the adhesion of suction cups or adhesives and replace any elements that have lost their grip.
  • Do not apply lubricants or paints unless specifically indicated for the product.
  • If you detect cracks, deformations or excessive play, stop using the stand until it is replaced.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not use the stand as a step, seat, carry handle or as a support point for your body.
  • Do not hang bags or other objects from the stand or use it as a coat rack.
  • Do not move the assembly by lifting it by the stand with the laptop on it; remove the device before transporting.
  • Do not install it on fragile surfaces (e.g., thin glass) or on unstable surfaces.
  • Do not use it with equipment that exceeds the recommended size or weight, nor outdoors or in moving vehicles unless expressly specified for the product.
  • Keep the stand out of reach of children and pets; prevent them from hanging from it or playing with it.
  • Do not modify the stand or add parts that alter its balance or operation.
  • Avoid placing it on edges or in walkways where a fall could strike people.
