Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Overheating of the device or charger if it is covered during charging or placed on soft surfaces.
- Damage to the lithium battery due to impacts, punctures or heat exposure, with risk of smoke or fire.
- Electric shock from using damaged chargers or cables, or handling them with wet hands.
- Drops and screen breakage with a possible risk of cuts.
- Ingress of liquids or moisture that can cause malfunctions and short circuits.
- Eye strain and muscular discomfort from prolonged use or poor posture.
- Distractions that may cause accidents if used while driving or walking.
- Hearing damage from listening at high volume with headphones.
- Interference from magnets in cases or accessories with magnetic cards or certain medical implants.
- Risk to small children from small parts (SIM tray, eject tool, stylus tips) and from cables.
Safe use
- Use compatible chargers and cables in good condition; plug into safe mains sockets and avoid pinched or frayed cables.
- Charge on a hard, stable surface; do not cover the tablet or charger with clothing, cushions or blankets.
- Keep the device and your hands dry; if liquid enters, switch it off and unplug it from the charger.
- If you notice unusual heat, odour, swelling, sparking or smoke, stop using it, unplug the charger if it is safe to do so, and place it on a non-flammable surface.
- Use a non-slip case and a screen protector; place the tablet on sturdy stands, away from edges and high places.
- Tidy cables to avoid trips and tugs; disconnect by holding the connector, not the cable.
- Adjust brightness and viewing distance, and take regular breaks; use a comfortable posture at a table or on a stand.
- Control the volume and limit the time spent using headphones.
- Do not use the tablet while driving or operating machinery; if you need navigation, mount it on a fixed holder and operate it only when stationary.
- If you use cases or accessories with magnets, keep them away from bank cards and from your chest if you have implants.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the tablet in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight (for example, inside a car in the sun).
- Do not leave or charge it on soft surfaces; always allow heat to dissipate.
- Transport it in a padded case; avoid pressure, twisting and sharp objects that could damage the screen or the battery.
- Switch off and unplug before cleaning; use a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive products or spraying liquids directly.
- Keep the ports clean and dry; do not insert metal or sharp objects into connectors and slots.
- Regularly check the condition of the charger and cables; replace them if they show sharp bends, fraying or loose connectors.
- If you are not going to use it for a while, top it up occasionally and avoid leaving the battery depleted for prolonged periods.
- Keep the tablet separate from bottles or other liquid containers in backpacks or bags to prevent spills.
Usage restrictions
- Do not disassemble, puncture or attempt to repair or replace the battery; in the event of a fault, contact a qualified service centre.
- Do not use or charge the device if it shows visible damage (broken screen, cracked casing or swollen battery).
- Do not use the tablet in a bath, shower, pool or on wet surfaces.
- Do not place the tablet or magnetic accessories directly over your chest if you have medical implants; follow your healthcare professional's guidance.
- Keep the product, accessories and cables out of reach of young children and pets; for minors, use it under supervision.
- Do not cover the device or charger during use or charging.
- Do not use the tablet as a support base or sit on it; avoid compressing it in overfilled backpacks.
- Avoid using it near open flames, stoves or other intense sources of heat.
- Respect signs that advise against the use of electronic devices in certain environments (for example, hospitals or aircraft).
