Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Ink spills or leaks that may stain skin, clothing and surfaces, and affect the printer's operation.
  • Mild irritation from ink contacting skin or eyes, and splashes when removing seals or caps.
  • Risk of choking or accidental ingestion of small parts (caps, protectors) by children or pets.
  • Damage to the printer from installing an incompatible cartridge or forcing it into place.
  • Cartridge deterioration and possible leaks due to exposure to direct heat, intense sunlight or frost.

Safe use

  • Check the cartridge is compatible with your printer model before opening the packaging.
  • Inspect the sealed cartridge; do not use it if it shows cracks, visible damage or signs of leakage.
  • Prepare a protected work area with absorbent paper and handle the cartridge with clean hands; wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.
  • Remove seals and protectors just before installation and keep the indicated orientation to avoid drips; do not shake vigorously.
  • Do not touch the nozzle, the print head or the contacts/chip; hold the cartridge by the sides.
  • Follow the replacement procedure specified by your printer and do not force it into place.
  • If a spill occurs, blot immediately with paper, clean with water and mild soap and ventilate the area; do not pour ink down the drain.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mouth; in case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse with plenty of water.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store cartridges in their original, sealed packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and frost.
  • Keep the orientation indicated on the packaging and avoid impacts, compression or punctures.
  • Do not open the cartridge until use; once opened, install it as soon as possible to reduce the risk of drying out.
  • Keep the contacts and nozzle clean and dry; use the protectors when not installed.
  • Use the cartridges within the period recommended by the manufacturer and rotate stock to avoid long storage times.
  • Store away from food and drink, and out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Dispose of empty cartridges through collection or recycling programmes; do not dispose of leftover ink down the drain.

Restrictions of use

  • Not a toy; keep out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use cartridges that are damaged, deformed or show signs of leakage.
  • Do not modify, pierce or refill the cartridge unless expressly instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Do not mix or swap cartridges of different models in the same printer slot.
  • Do not expose the cartridge to extreme temperatures, flames or sparks.
  • Do not use or handle near porous surfaces or light-coloured textiles without preventative protection.
  • Do not intentionally ingest or inhale the contents of the cartridge.
