Usage Warnings

Waste Bins

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Finger trapping in the lid, hinges or opening mechanisms.
  • Tipping and spills that can lead to slippery floors and falls.
  • Exposure to organic waste and microorganisms, with a risk of unpleasant odours and cross-contamination in the kitchen.
  • Cuts or punctures from broken glass, cans, or discarded sharp utensils.
  • Fire or burn risk if embers, ashes or hot oils are placed inside.
  • Risk of suffocation from handling bin bags, especially for children and pets.
  • Bag tearing and strain when lifting if it is overfilled or contains liquids.

Safe use

  • Place the bin on a stable, dry surface, away from heat sources and narrow walkways.
  • Keep hands clear of hinges and edges when opening or closing; do not force the lid. Operate pedals wearing shoes and without rushing.
  • Use bin liners of the correct size and do not overfill them; avoid compacting waste by hand. When removing the bag, tie a knot and lift it by bending your knees.
  • Wrap or protect glass and sharp objects before disposal to prevent punctures and cuts.
  • Do not place batteries, chemicals, pressurised aerosols, or objects that could explode or react.
  • Allow ashes, oils or other hot waste to cool before disposal and avoid pouring boiling liquids into the bin.
  • Empty the bin regularly, keep the lid closed, and clean up any spills on the floor immediately.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean the interior and exterior periodically with warm water and a mild detergent; rinse and dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion, mould and odours.
  • Do not mix incompatible cleaning products, and avoid abrasives or scouring pads that may scratch the surfaces.
  • Check hinges, lid and inner bucket; replace any damaged parts or those with sharp edges.
  • Place the bin in a ventilated area and, if it is plastic, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and intense heat.
  • Prevent liquid build-up at the bottom; use an inner bucket or a drip tray if applicable.
  • Store spare bin liners in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children and pets.

Usage restrictions

  • Not a toy: do not allow children to sit on, climb on, or play with the lid or pedal.
  • Do not use the bin as a step, seat, or support.
  • Do not use outdoors unless the product is designed for outdoor use.
  • Do not place embers, burning waste, flammable solvents, or very hot oils/fats inside.
  • Do not throw in large or heavy objects that prevent the lid from closing properly or damage the inner bucket.
  • Do not pour in boiling liquids or trap the bag when closing; avoid forcing the mechanism.
  • Keep children and pets away; empty bags can cause suffocation.
