Warnings and safety precautions
Main risks
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD) that can damage the motherboard and other components.
- Short circuits caused by contact with metallic surfaces, loose screws, or incorrectly positioned standoffs in the case.
- Electrical hazard when handling with the system connected to the mains or with the power supply still charged.
- Overheating due to poor ventilation, obstructed heatsinks or improperly seated connectors.
- Minor burns if heatsinks or hot areas are touched immediately after use.
- Damage from bending the motherboard, forcing connectors, or the processor socket pins.
- Injuries from sharp chassis edges or tools during assembly.
- Risk associated with the coin-cell (CMOS) battery: possible leakage or heating if short-circuited, and a swallowing hazard for children and pets.
Safe use
- Always work with the system disconnected from the mains and wait a few minutes before starting.
- Handle the motherboard by the edges; avoid touching contacts, traces and sockets.
- Control static electricity by using an antistatic wrist strap or frequently touching an earthed metal surface.
- Place the motherboard on a clean, dry, non-conductive surface; never on metal or potentially conductive surfaces.
- Check CPU, memory, case and power supply compatibility before installation.
- Install only the case standoffs that match the motherboard holes and screw them in without over-tightening.
- Connect cables and modules in the indicated orientation; do not force them. Remove by pulling the connector, not the cable.
- Keep drinks and liquids away; do not spray cleaners onto the motherboard.
- Avoid metal tools near the motherboard when power is present; do not power on the system while connecting or removing components.
- Update the BIOS/UEFI only when necessary, with stable power and without interrupting the process.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the motherboard or spares in an antistatic bag and protective packaging, in a dry, ventilated place, away from heat and direct sunlight.
- Avoid impacts, pressure or stacking that could warp the PCB or damage connectors.
- Transport with protection against static discharge and vibrations; avoid touching contacts without protection.
- Clean dust with dry compressed air in short bursts; do not use water or abrasive products.
- Periodically check that cables and connectors are secure and that there are no signs of overheating or unusual odours; if detected, power off and check the installation.
- To replace the CMOS battery, shut down and unplug the system; use the same type and observe polarity. Do not short-circuit it or expose it to heat.
Usage restrictions
- Product intended for users with basic PC assembly knowledge; keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use the motherboard in environments with humidity, condensation or liquid residue; ensure it is completely dry before switching back on.
- Do not operate without the motherboard securely mounted and with the correct standoffs; do not place it on conductive surfaces during testing.
- Do not modify the motherboard (drilling, soldering, removing heatsinks) or use accessories not designed for it.
- Do not cover the chassis ventilation areas or obstruct nearby heatsinks.
- Do not use damaged power supplies, frayed cables or connectors with signs of burning.
- Avoid settings that significantly increase power consumption or temperature without adequate cooling.
- Do not leave the coin-cell battery within reach of children; do not open it or throw it into a fire.
