Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Risk of electric shock from damaged cables, faulty plugs, or internal handling while the equipment is plugged in.
- Overheating and risk of fire if ventilation grilles are obstructed or excessive dust accumulates.
- Trips and falls due to loose or poorly routed cabling.
- Injuries when lifting or moving heavy PC towers; cuts when handling the chassis or metal edges or slots.
- Contact with moving parts (fans) if the equipment is powered on with the case open.
- Damage from liquid spills near the equipment or the extension lead.
Safe use
- Place the computer on a stable surface and leave clear space around the grilles to aid ventilation.
- Keep the equipment away from sources of heat, humidity and dust; avoid placing it on thick carpets that block the air intakes.
- Connect to an earthed socket and, if possible, use a surge-protected extension lead; do not overload sockets or daisy-chain extension leads.
- Regularly check cables and plugs; if they are frayed, bent or loose, replace them. Do not pull the cable to unplug.
- Organise cabling with ties or trunking to prevent snags and trips, leaving sufficient slack at the connectors.
- Keep drinks and liquids away. If a spill occurs, switch off and unplug immediately, and allow it to dry completely before switching back on.
- Before opening the tower to install or remove components, switch off, unplug and wait for the fans to stop; avoid touching the power supply and do not force connectors.
- Do not use the computer with the case open during normal use.
Storage and maintenance
- Store and use the equipment in a dry, clean and well-ventilated place, away from dust, smoke and moisture.
- Clean grilles and fans with low-pressure air or a soft, dry cloth; never use liquids or aerosols while the equipment is plugged in.
- Do not cover the tower or stack objects on top that could block ventilation.
- Periodically check that the fans spin freely and that there are no unusual smells, crackling noises or smoke; if any appear, switch off and unplug.
- For transport, shut down completely, disconnect all cables and protect the tower against impacts.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use outdoors or in environments with condensation, steam, grease or conductive dust (industrial kitchens, workshops without extraction, bathrooms, etc.).
- Do not expose to water jets or place near washbasins, sinks or radiators.
- Do not allow young children to handle the interior of the equipment or the cabling without adult supervision.
- Do not open or tamper with the power supply or carry out complex internal repairs.
- Do not block, remove or modify the equipment's ventilation or cooling systems.
- Do not use cables, adaptors or accessories that are damaged or not suitable for the equipment.
- Do not cover the tower with covers or fabrics while it is switched on.
