- Fire or smoke in exceptional cases caused by a damaged, swollen or impact-damaged battery.
- Electric shock from damaged or wet chargers, adaptors or cables.
- Device drops and injuries caused by tripping over cables or unstable handling.
- Internal damage and short circuits due to liquid spills.
- Eye strain, muscle and wrist discomfort caused by poor posture and prolonged use.
Safe use
- Place the laptop on a firm, stable surface; do not cover the vents or rest it on clothing, sofas or beds while charging or during intensive tasks.
- If you notice excessive heat, a strange odour, crackling sounds or smoke, switch off the device and unplug it from the mains immediately.
- Use compatible chargers and cables in good condition; avoid overloaded extension leads and loose sockets.
- Keep drinks and food away; in the event of a spill, disconnect the device and allow it to dry completely before using it again.
- Manage cables to prevent snags and trips; always unplug by pulling the plug, not the cable.
- Do not open the device or pierce the battery; any internal intervention without the correct tools and knowledge can be dangerous.
- Adjust your working posture: keep the screen at eye level, the keyboard at a comfortable height, and take regular breaks to rest your eyes and hands.
- Carry the laptop with the lid closed, in a padded case, and avoid holding it by the screen.
- Keep the volume moderate when using headphones to prevent hearing discomfort.
Storage and maintenance
- Store it in a dry, clean and well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Avoid leaving it in very hot or cold environments (for example, in a car in the sun or exposed to the elements).
- For long periods of non-use, switch it off and leave the battery partially charged; check and recharge periodically.
- Clean the screen and exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth; do not use abrasive products or spray liquids directly.
- Remove dust from the vents with low-pressure air or a dry cloth; do not open the device for this task.
- Frequently check the condition of cables and chargers; replace immediately any that show visible cuts, pronounced bends or loose connectors.
- Do not place heavy objects on the laptop or compress it inside backpacks or drawers.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the laptop in humid environments, in the rain or near baths, sinks or sources of water.
- Do not cover the device with blankets, closed covers or airtight cases while in use or charging.
- Do not leave it running inside a backpack or closed case.
- Do not insert objects into the ports or force incompatible connectors.
- Do not use chargers, batteries or adaptors that are damaged, of dubious origin or with unsuitable power ratings.
- Do not expose the device to knocks, drops or intense vibrations; avoid leaning on it or sitting on it.
- Do not allow small children to handle the laptop or cables without proper supervision.
- If the battery swells or the casing deforms, stop using the device and disconnect it from the mains.
