Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls from changing tables, cots or beds when the baby rolls over or sits up.
  • Suffocation or smothering due to excessive soft bedding, bulky cot bumpers, cushions or soft toys inside the cot.
  • Strangulation from curtain and blind cords, decorative garlands, or device cables.
  • Furniture tipping (chests of drawers, bookcases) and objects falling from height over the sleeping area.
  • Finger or limb entrapment in cot bars, hinges, drawers or chest lids.
  • Burns and electrical hazards from hot lamps, heaters or accessible sockets without protection.
  • Ingestion of small parts or batteries that have come loose from decorative items or lights.
  • Slips and trips due to rugs without non-slip backing and loose cables on the floor.
  • Irritations or allergies caused by dust, mould or overly strong fragrances.

Safe use

  • Assemble and place furniture according to the instructions; ensure it is stable and with no looseness. Do not modify the products.
  • Position the cot away from windows, curtains, radiators and devices with cables; avoid shelves or pictures directly above.
  • Use a mattress that fits the cot correctly and a fitted sheet; keep the cot clear of cushions, soft toys and padded bumpers.
  • Lower the cot base when the baby starts to pull up or sit, and always close the sides fully.
  • At the changing table, prepare everything you need beforehand and keep one hand on the baby at all times; do not step away.
  • Anchor tall furniture and chests of drawers to the wall; avoid opening several drawers at once, and do not place heavy objects on the cot.
  • Organise and secure cables so they do not hang down; fit socket covers on accessible sockets.
  • Use rugs with non-slip backing or fix them to prevent movement.
  • Keep appliances that generate heat or vapour out of reach and away from textiles.
  • Store small parts, batteries, medicines, cosmetics and cleaning products up high and with childproof locks.

Storage and maintenance

  • Wash bedding and textiles before first use and regularly; dry them completely.
  • Air the room daily and maintain a comfortable temperature to avoid overheating.
  • Regularly check screws, rails, fittings and joints; tighten or replace damaged parts.
  • Check the condition of the mattress: firm, with no indentations or tears; use a well-fitted breathable protector.
  • If you use humidifiers or diffusers, empty and clean them frequently; use clean water and dry the tank after use.
  • Check that socket covers, door stops and corner guards remain securely fixed.
  • Remove and dispose of packaging plastics and cords immediately; store them out of reach.
  • Check rugs and non-slip strips; replace them if they lift or deform.
  • Store creams, wipes and refills in closed containers and out of the baby's reach.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not leave the baby unattended on changing tables, adult beds, sofas or other raised surfaces.
  • Do not place the cot next to windows, corded curtains, heaters or radiators.
  • Do not position shelves, heavy pictures or hanging lamps over the sleeping area.
  • Do not hang mobiles, lights or garlands with long cords within the baby's reach or directly over the cot.
  • Do not add extra mattresses, cushions or thick duvets inside the cot.
  • Do not use unstable or unanchored furniture; do not allow children to climb on drawers or rails.
  • Do not overload sockets or use multiple adapters in a chain.
  • Do not use harsh cleaners or strong air fresheners near the baby.
  • Once the baby can pull to standing, remove any items inside the cot that could serve as steps.
  • Stop using mini cots or changing tables once the manufacturer's stated weight or height limits are exceeded.
