  • Cuts or pinches when handling grilles, fan blades, trays or moving parts.
  • Skin or eye irritation from contact with adhesives or chemical attractants.
  • Distress to pets sensitive to ultrasound, or danger if they come into contact with live grids or adhesive surfaces.
  • Trips due to poorly placed cables or devices positioned in walkways.
  • Food contamination from insect fragments if used near kitchens or tables.

Safe use

  • Read the instructions for your model and use the appliance only for the intended purpose.
  • Install on a stable surface or hang securely, at a safe distance from walkways and places where people are seated or sleeping.
  • Connect to a suitable socket in good condition; do not use the appliance with damaged cables, plugs or casings.
  • Do not touch the grid, fan blades or other live parts during operation; do not insert objects into the unit.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to UV light and do not position the appliance at eye level.
  • Place the device away from water, rain or splashes unless the product clearly states it is suitable for such conditions.
  • Do not cover the appliance or block air/light intake or outlet.
  • If using attractants or baits, follow the manufacturer's instructions, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and wash your hands after handling them.
  • Outdoors, position the unit at some distance from tables and gathering areas to avoid drawing insects towards people.
  • Disconnect and allow to cool before cleaning or replacing bulbs, trays or consumables.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean trays and grilles regularly with the appliance switched off and unplugged; use a brush or dry cloth. Do not use high-pressure water or immerse the unit.
  • Dispose of insects and debris in sealed bags to prevent odours and secondary infestations; wash your hands afterwards.
  • Periodically check cables, plugs, casing and fixings. If you detect damage, stop using the product until replacement or authorised repair.
  • Replace bulbs, adhesives, filters, batteries or attractant cartridges according to the manufacturer's instructions and use compatible replacements.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, ventilated place, protected from dust, moisture and direct sunlight. Keep consumables sealed and away from food and drink.
  • If it will not be used for a while, unplug the unit and, in battery-powered models, remove the batteries to prevent leaks.

Restrictions on use

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets; do not allow them to handle the appliance.
  • Do not use on unstable surfaces, near curtains or other flammable materials, or directly above food, cots or beds.
  • Do not use in very humid areas, inside showers, pools or fountains, or in direct contact with rain, unless the product is specifically designed for this.
  • Do not use flammable aerosols or solvents near the operating appliance.
  • If the model emits ultrasound, avoid placing it in rooms where sensitive pets could be affected.
  • Do not modify, open or tamper with the device internally; do not cover it or use it as general lighting.
  • Do not use the appliance in the presence of flammable vapours or airborne dust.
