Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Water leaks due to poorly tightened connections, damaged seals, or incompatibility between the box and the tap body.
  • Moisture damage to the wall or ceiling when perimeter sealing is insufficient.
  • Cuts or knocks when handling metal parts and when opening the recess in the wall.
  • Accidental drilling of concealed pipes or cables during marking out and cutting.
  • Risk of scalding from hot water when testing without purging or without controlling the flow.
  • Blockages and malfunction due to construction debris, dust or mortar inside the box.

Safe use

  • Check the box is compatible with the tap model and wall type before starting the installation.
  • Shut off the water supply and relieve the pressure in the pipes before dismantling or connecting any component.
  • Locate services and cables with a detector before drilling or chasing to avoid unintentional damage.
  • Mark and cut the opening with suitable tools, keeping the box level and without forcing the fixings or the threads.
  • Protect the inside of the box with its cover or plugs during building works to prevent dust and mortar ingress.
  • Seal the perimeter and penetrations with materials suitable for wet areas, keeping the inspection access operational.
  • Before closing the wall surface, carry out a leak test and check for any weeping or drips.
  • Wear gloves and safety glasses when cutting, drilling or handling edges and parts.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store the box and its accessories in its packaging, in a dry, ventilated place, avoiding impacts and deformation.
  • Keep seals, fixings and plugs together and labelled to avoid losing essential parts.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight that could deform plastics or seals.
  • Periodically inspect the accessible inspection point for moisture, corrosion or odours; take action if signs of a leak appear.
  • Clean visible surfaces with a soft cloth; do not use abrasive products or acidic cleaners.
  • Immediately replace any deteriorated seals or components with spares compatible with the tap model.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the box as a load-bearing support or to hang accessories.
  • Do not modify or drill the box other than at the points provided by the manufacturer.
  • Do not install outdoors or in areas with continuous immersion unless the product expressly indicates such suitability.
  • Do not mix the box with incompatible tap bodies or fittings.
  • Keep the inspection point out of the reach of children and prevent them from operating accessible valves or controls.
  • If you have no plumbing experience or the installation affects concealed lines, consider hiring a qualified installer.
