Warnings and safety precautions

Main risks

  • Blows and impacts to knees, elbows, shins and forearms during lifting, handling or work on hard surfaces.
  • Cuts, punctures or abrasions when handling parts with sharp edges, splinters or rough surfaces.
  • Entrapment or snagging in machinery due to straps, buckles or protruding edges of the protector.
  • Trips or loss of balance if the protector shifts, comes loose, or adds bulk in walkways.
  • Skin irritation, excessive sweating or allergic reactions to materials or finishes.
  • Excessive compression that limits circulation, with possible numbness or tingling.
  • Insufficient protection if an unsuitable model is chosen for the risk or activity.

Safe use

  • Select the appropriate type and size of protector for the risk and task; check compatibility with footwear, gloves or other protective equipment.
  • Inspect before each use: cracks, broken seams, compressed padding, cracked rigid parts, hook-and-loop fasteners or buckles that do not close properly.
  • Fit the protector according to the manufacturer’s instructions; tighten it firmly without over-compressing and ensure it does not restrict mobility or the sensitivity needed to work.
  • Tuck away and secure loose straps or ends to prevent snagging; keep clear of moving machine parts.
  • Readjust or remove the protector if it shifts, causes pain, tingling, coldness in the area or loss of sensation.
  • Replace the product if it has suffered a heavy impact, a deep cut, or shows significant wear.
  • Keep away from heat sources, flames, sparks, chemicals or electricity when the model is not designed for those risks.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean after use to remove dust, oils and particles; use water and mild soap unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer.
  • Air-dry in the shade; avoid direct heat, prolonged sunlight or forced drying that may deform materials.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place with no weight on top to avoid deforming padding or rigid parts.
  • Periodically check the condition of straps, hook-and-loop fasteners and buckles; replace worn components only if permitted by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid solvents, bleach or abrasive products that may damage fabrics, foams or plastics.
  • Keep away from sources of ozone, hydrocarbons and persistent moisture that accelerate degradation.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the protector if it is damaged, heavily worn or beyond its service life as stated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use it against risks for which it is not designed; unless expressly stated, it does not protect against harsh chemicals, high temperatures, electric arc or high-energy cutting tools.
  • Do not modify the product or add non-approved accessories (drilling, cutting, heating, gluing parts).
  • Do not share protectors in direct contact with the skin without adequate hygiene between users.
  • Do not use the protector as a seat, load support or tie-down.
  • Avoid use on children; for inexperienced users, fit it under supervision and check the fit.
  • In areas with moving machinery, avoid protectors with loose or protruding elements that may snag.
