Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Snagging or entanglement in machinery, edges or protruding parts if the garment is loose or has dangling straps.
- Risk of ignition or melting of the fabric on contact with flames, sparks or very hot surfaces.
- Loss of visibility on worksites or in traffic areas if the garment is not high-visibility or is dirty/worn.
- Dropped objects or overloading when carrying tools and materials in vest pockets.
- Skin irritation caused by sweat, friction, dyes or fabric treatments.
- Thermal stress from heat or cold if the garment is not suitable for the temperature or remains wet.
- Reduced functionality due to wear: open seams, damaged fastenings or peeling reflective bands.
Safe use
- Choose the correct size and adjust zips, hook-and-loop closures and buttons to avoid folds and hanging parts.
- Avoid loose garments near moving equipment and secure drawcords or straps that could snag.
- Do not overload pockets; distribute the weight and secure tools in suitable holders. Use sheaths for sharp objects.
- Keep visible areas clean and, if working near traffic or mobile machinery, use appropriate high-visibility garments.
- Keep away from heat sources, sparks and flames unless the garment is specifically intended for those environments.
- If working at height or moving on stairs, empty pockets of loose items that could fall.
- If using a harness or other PPE, ensure the T-shirt or vest does not cover anchorage points or interfere with its fit.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically check seams, fastenings, pockets and reflective elements. Replace the garment if damage compromises its use.
- Wash according to the care label; close zips and hook-and-loop closures and remove accessories before washing.
- Avoid excessive drying or ironing temperatures that could deform fabrics or damage reflective bands and elastic components.
- Dry completely in a ventilated place. Do not store the garment damp to prevent mould and bad odours.
- Store clean and dry, away from prolonged direct sunlight, moisture, oil, solvents and sources of heat.
- Do not modify the garment (cutting bands, sewing on rigid accessories) if this could create snag points or reduce visibility.
Restrictions on use
- Not a substitute for garments specifically designed for protection against flames, extreme heat, electric arc, chemicals, chainsaw or cut hazards.
- Do not use the garment if it is heavily worn, torn, with non-functioning fastenings or severely deteriorated reflective elements.
- Do not wear it near rotating parts if it cannot be adjusted close-fitting and free of dangling elements.
- Do not carry more weight than you can comfortably and safely manage; avoid sharp objects without a sheath in pockets.
- Do not use T-shirts or vests as a restraint, lifting or fall-protection system.
- Not suitable for use by children except for models expressly designed for that purpose.
- In low-visibility conditions, do not use garments without high-visibility elements suitable for the environment.
