Main risks

• Ejection of particles (rust, swarf, bushes) and possible fracture of sockets not suitable for impact use.
• Sudden torque reactions and kickback that can injure the wrist, hand or arm.
• High noise levels and prolonged vibration that can affect hearing and hands.
• Entanglement or snagging with the rotating part, loose clothing, unsuitable gloves or hair.
• Damage from over-tightening or uncontrolled loosening that can break bolts or damage the workpiece.
• Overheating of the tool, the socket or the fastener after intensive use.
• Electrical hazards in corded or battery models and hose whip/leaks in pneumatic models.
• Risk of fire or explosion from sparks in the presence of flammable gases or vapours.
• Falls or trips due to cables and hoses around the work area.

Safe use

• Always wear eye and hearing protection; use close-fitting gloves and snug-fitting clothing.
• Use only impact-rated sockets and accessories of the correct size and in good condition.
• Hold the tool firmly, adopt a stable stance and keep both hands on it whenever possible.
• Secure or immobilise the workpiece before working; do not hold the nut or bolt by hand while operating.
• Select the direction (tighten/loosen) and, if the model allows, adjust the power; apply short bursts and check the result.
• If the tightening torque is critical, verify the final torque with a torque wrench.
• Keep hands, clothing and hair away from the square drive (anvil) and the rotating socket.
• Disconnect from the power source (battery/cable/air) before changing sockets or clearing jams.
• On pneumatic models, hold the tool when connecting or disconnecting the hose and use fittings and hoses in good condition.
• On corded or battery models, keep cables and batteries away from heat, moisture and sharp edges.
• Take breaks during prolonged work to reduce vibration and prevent overheating.
• Do not force the tool if it jams; release the trigger and check the socket and workpiece are properly secured.

Storage and maintenance

• Disconnect and allow to cool before cleaning or storing; remove dust and rust from the square drive and socket area.
• Periodically check the condition of sockets, retaining rings, pins, square drive, trigger and housing; replace damaged parts.
• Check cables, connectors and hoses; if they show cracks, leaks or looseness, replace them.
• Store the tool in a dry, clean and ventilated place, protected from moisture and extreme temperatures.
• For battery-powered models, charge with the specified charger and avoid exposing the batteries to impacts or heat.
• For pneumatic models, use lubrication if specified by the manufacturer and prevent water entering the air lines.
• Store sockets and accessories organised and without stresses that could deform them.
• Perform a brief no-load run after maintenance to check there are no abnormal vibrations or noises.

Usage restrictions

• For use only by adults familiar with powered tools.
• Do not use in atmospheres with flammable gases, vapours or dust.
• Do not apply to running equipment, rotating parts or live electrical installations.
• Do not use as a hammer or lever, or for cutting or drilling tasks.
• Do not modify the tool or bypass safety devices or socket retention mechanisms.
• Do not lift, drag or suspend loads with the wrench or accessory.
• Avoid working on ladders or unstable surfaces without additional restraint.
• Keep third parties and pets away from the work area; store the tool out of the reach of children.
