Usage Warnings

Shower Traps and Concealed Shower Frames

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Water leaks due to incorrect assembly or worn gaskets, with a risk of damp patches and slippery surfaces.
  • Blockages from hair, soap scum or limescale that reduce drainage and may cause overflows.
  • Unpleasant odours and ingress of gases if the water seal dries out or the trap is incorrectly fitted.
  • Deterioration of plastic parts or seals caused by aggressive cleaning products or very high water temperatures.
  • Minor cuts or knocks when handling tools, and splashes of wastewater during disassembly.

Safe use

  • Check that the trap is compatible with your shower tray or wall outlet, and with the drain connection type specified by the manufacturer.
  • Read and follow the product-specific instructions before installing or replacing parts.
  • Fit seals and washers correctly; tighten connections without forcing them or over-tightening.
  • Use only sealants or tapes recommended by the manufacturer, and observe curing times before using the shower.
  • Before finalising the installation, carry out a water test for leaks and verify that there are no drips.
  • Keep water in the trap: after periods without use, pour a little water into the shower to restore the seal.
  • During the work, keep the area dry, prevent anyone from turning on the shower, and wear gloves to protect your hands.

Storage and maintenance

  • Regularly clean the drain grate or cover and remove hair and debris to prevent blockages.
  • If the trap is accessible for cleaning, dismantle and clean the parts with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid sharp objects or stiff brushes.
  • Periodically check the condition of the seals; if you detect drips, re-tighten or replace the damaged components.
  • Avoid highly corrosive drain cleaners, solvents, acids, or pouring boiling water, as these can damage the material and seals.
  • If the shower will be out of use for a while, add water to the drain from time to time to prevent evaporation of the water seal.
  • Store spare parts not yet installed in a dry, clean place, protected from impacts, deformation and direct sunlight.

Restrictions of use

  • Intended for shower water drainage; do not use the drain to pour paints, solvents, oils, construction debris or other waste.
  • Do not use the trap with pressurised equipment or for pumping water.
  • Do not modify, cut or drill the parts; do not mix components from models or brands that do not fit securely.
  • Keep small parts and tools out of the reach of children and pets; installation and maintenance must be carried out by adults.
  • In the event of persistent odours, recurring leaks or frequent blockages, consider seeking professional help to check the installation.
