Curved Balance Boards

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls and knocks from loss of balance, especially on slippery surfaces or near furniture and walls.
  • Slips caused by smooth soles or socks, dust or moisture on the board or floor.
  • Finger entrapment under the edges or between the board and accessories such as rollers or stoppers.
  • Sudden movement of the board causing collisions with nearby people or objects.
  • Cuts, splinters or instability due to wear, cracks, warping, or detached felt/padding.
  • Floor damage if suitable non-slip protection is not used.
  • Collisions when several children use the play area without sufficient space.

Safe use

  • Always use on a flat, clean, non-slip surface; add a mat or rug if the floor is smooth.
  • Leave clear space around it and remove hard or sharp-edged objects from the play area.
  • Use barefoot or with footwear that has good grip; avoid smooth or damp socks.
  • Start with slow, controlled movements; first practise getting on and off with support until confidence is gained.
  • Avoid jumps, somersaults, sudden spins, or uses that exceed the product's intended stability.
  • Fit and secure any compatible accessories correctly before starting; do not improvise supports.
  • Follow the manufacturer's recommended age and weight limits and closely supervise children, especially during the first sessions.
  • Stop the activity if there is fatigue, dizziness, or loss of concentration.

Storage and maintenance

  • Check before each use: ensure there are no cracks, splinters, lifted edges, looseness, or detached padding.
  • Clean with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive products or soaking the wood.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place, away from sources of heat or moisture; avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
  • Store horizontally or as directed by the manufacturer to prevent warping; keep out of walkways so it does not roll.
  • Protect the floor with felt or a non-slip rug and replace it if worn.
  • Discontinue use and replace or repair parts if any damage is detected that affects stability or the contact surface.

Use restrictions

  • Do not use near stairs, edges, moving doors, heaters or stoves, swimming pools, or on elevated surfaces such as tables or beds.
  • Do not use as a stool, a bridge for jumping, a sliding ramp, or to carry another person.
  • Do not use on wet, dusty or highly polished floors, or with slippery socks.
  • Do not allow use without adult supervision by children under the age recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not perform tricks, jumps or acrobatics not intended for this model.
  • Do not add weights, wheels or other accessories not specifically designed for the board.
  • Avoid use if the user has recent injuries, pain, frequent dizziness, or balance issues that could be aggravated.
