Main risks
- Suffocation risk if a cushion covers the face, especially for babies or people who are asleep.
- Fire or burn hazard if placed near open flames, stoves, fireplaces or cigarettes.
- Detachment of small parts (buttons, tassels, zip pulls), posing a choking hazard to children and pets.
- Skin or respiratory reactions due to sensitivity to fabrics, fillings or a build-up of dust and mites.
- Mould and bad odours if the cushion becomes damp and is not dried completely.
- Colour transfer to upholstery or clothing, especially from intensely coloured fabrics when wet.
- Trips or falls if left on the floor, stairs or walkways.

Safe use
- Use cushions as support on stable surfaces; avoid sitting, jumping or standing on them.
- Keep them away from candles, fireplaces, stoves and other sources of heat.
- Do not cover the faces of babies or sleeping people; do not place cushions in cots, Moses baskets or prams or pushchairs.
- Fit covers securely and close zips; use inserts of the stated size to avoid tearing or exposed filling.
- Check seams, trims and fastenings regularly; if damaged, stop using the cushion until it is repaired or replaced.
- Follow the manufacturer's care instructions; if in doubt about colour fastness, wash separately the first few times.
- After washing, dry the cover and filling completely; air and fluff to restore volume.
- Avoid harsh cleaning products or bleach unless expressly recommended.
Storage and maintenance
- Store in a dry, clean and well-ventilated place to prevent damp and mould.
- Protect from prolonged direct sunlight to reduce fabric fading.
- Close zips before washing; if the cover is removable, wash it separately from the filling when possible.
- Vacuum or shake periodically to reduce dust and mites.
- Rotate cushions and change their position to distribute wear and maintain their shape.
- Do not compress them for long periods; use breathable bags if you need to store them.
- Replace the filling if it is compacted, damp or has a persistent odour.
- Keep them out of reach of pets that may chew or tear the fabric.
Restrictions of use
- They are not safety, pressure-relief, orthopaedic or flotation devices.
- Do not use outdoors unless the product clearly states it is suitable for outdoor use.
- Not suitable for infant sleep; do not use in cots, Moses baskets or prams or pushchairs.
- Do not place on or very near heat sources or open flames.
- Do not open seams or tamper with the filling; do not ingest fibres or filling beads.
- Keep plastic bags and packaging out of reach of children and pets.
- Supervise young children and pets when there are cushions with embellishments, cords or small parts.
- Avoid placing them on stairs or in walkways where they may cause tripping.
