Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls due to insufficient fixing or the use of unsuitable fixings, with possible injury and cuts.
  • Breakage of glass or acrylic when handling or due to impacts.
  • Cuts or scratches from hard edges and corners on metal or glass frames.
  • Finger trapping when closing rear tabs, clips or stands.
  • Tipping of frames with stands on unstable surfaces or near edges.
  • Detachment of small parts (hooks, screws, magnets), a hazard for children and pets.
  • Deterioration due to moisture or heat that may warp the frame or loosen the backing.
  • Fading of photos due to direct sunlight exposure.
  • Risk when drilling into walls of hitting hidden cables or pipes.

Safe use

  • Check the frame’s weight and choose fixings compatible with the wall type and the intended load.
  • If using adhesives or no-drill hangers, observe their load limit and the condition of the surface; test adhesion before hanging heavy pieces.
  • Check that the glass/acrylic and the backing are intact before assembling and hanging.
  • Handle the transparent front by the edges; if it is glass, avoid resting it on hard edges.
  • Place frames with stands on flat, stable surfaces, away from edges and from areas with vibrations or draughts.
  • Keep frames and loose parts out of the reach of small children.
  • Avoid hanging above beds, cots or walkways if the fixing is not very secure.
  • When drilling, check for any cables or pipes and mark the fixing points precisely.
  • Leave sufficient clearance from sources of heat, moisture or splashes.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store uninstalled frames in their packaging, protected from dust and impacts; do not stack weight on glass surfaces.
  • Regularly check hooks, hangers, cables or wires and tighten them if necessary.
  • Replace cracked glass, damaged corner pieces or loose clips immediately; do not use the frame until it has been repaired.
  • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid abrasive, ammonia-based or solvent products that could damage finishes and photos.
  • Remove internal condensation and ventilate the room to prevent moisture inside the frame.
  • Protect photos from direct sunlight to minimise fading.
  • Keep frames away from radiators, heaters and environments with persistent steam.

Restrictions on use

  • Decorative indoor use; not suitable for outdoor use unless expressly stated for the product.
  • Not a toy; do not allow handling by children without supervision, especially if it includes glass, magnets or small parts.
  • Do not use if the glass is broken, the frame is warped or fittings are missing.
  • Do not hang with improvised string, tapes not designed for load-bearing, or unsuitable wall fixings.
  • Do not overload the frame with bulky or heavy objects other than photographs or prints of the stated size.
  • Do not install with adhesives on damp, dusty or freshly painted surfaces.
  • Avoid placing heavy frames above headboards, cots or sofas if you do not have a robust, redundant fixing.
