Usage Warnings

Tabletop Clocks

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls from shelves or tables that can cause the clock to break and cuts from broken parts or glass.
  • Battery leakage, overheating or explosion if inserted incorrectly, if types are mixed, or if short-circuited.
  • Electrical hazard in wired or USB models due to damaged cables, faulty plugs, or contact with liquids.
  • Small parts (caps, screws, feet, decorative elements) that may detach and pose a choking hazard for children or pets.
  • Alarms or audible signals at high volume near the ear may cause hearing discomfort.
  • Overheating and warping due to direct, prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat sources.
  • Damage from moisture, splashes or condensation, especially in areas such as the kitchen or bathroom.

Safe use

  • Place the clock on a stable, level surface and away from the edge; use non-slip pads if the surface is polished.
  • Keep the product out of walkways, vibration-prone areas, or anywhere it could be struck or accidentally pushed.
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, radiators, heaters or flames; excessive heat shortens service life and may damage batteries and components.
  • Protect the clock from moisture and splashes; do not immerse it or use it in very humid places unless explicitly specified for that model.
  • If it runs on batteries, insert them observing the polarity; do not mix new and used batteries or different types; do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • If mains-powered or USB, use only compatible adaptors in good condition; do not pull the cable to unplug; unplug before cleaning.
  • Operate controls and settings without forcing; if you encounter unusual resistance, stop to avoid damaging the mechanism.
  • If the glass or casing breaks, remove the fragments wearing gloves and keep the area out of the reach of children and pets.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth; avoid chemicals, solvents or abrasive scourers that may scratch or discolour.
  • Keep the clock dry; if it comes into contact with water, remove the batteries or unplug and allow it to dry completely before using again.
  • Periodically check the stability, the feet or pads, and that the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
  • Replace the batteries at the first sign of low charge or leakage; if you are not going to use the clock for a prolonged period, remove the batteries.
  • Store spare batteries in their original packaging, in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children and pets.
  • For wired models, keep cables tidy, without tension or pinching, and dispose of them if they show cuts or fraying.
  • For transport or storage, wrap the clock to cushion impacts and protect the glass and corners.

Restrictions on use

  • Not a toy; keep the clock and, especially, loose or button-cell batteries out of the reach of young children and pets.
  • Do not use the product outdoors, in bathrooms or in areas with high humidity, unless specifically indicated by the manufacturer for that model.
  • Do not place the clock in unstable or elevated locations where vibration or a pull on the cable could cause it to fall.
  • Do not open, pierce or modify the casing or the internal mechanism; you could damage it or create additional risks.
  • Do not use batteries that are damaged, swollen or show signs of corrosion; do not throw batteries into a fire.
  • Do not hold the clock's speaker close to your ear when the alarm sounds.
  • Do not cover the product with fabrics or objects if you notice it heating up during use in electrical models.
