Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Electric shock due to damaged cables, wet plugs or sockets, or unauthorised internal tampering.
  • Risk of fire or explosion if refrigerant gas leaks in the presence of sparks or flames.
  • Children becoming trapped or suffocated if they climb inside or play with the door.
  • Injuries from tipping or pinching when moving the appliance, and impacts when handling drawers or doors.
  • Cold burns from prolonged contact with very cold surfaces, ice or freshly frozen foods.
  • Slips and water damage during defrosting or due to leaks.
  • Food spoilage and health risks if an appropriate temperature is not maintained or after prolonged power cuts.

Safe use

  • Install the freezer on a level, stable surface, in a well-ventilated indoor location away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • Connect it to an earthed socket. Avoid extension leads, multi-plug adaptors and coiled cables; the plug must remain accessible.
  • After transport, leave the appliance upright for a reasonable time before switching it on.
  • Keep the grilles and ventilation openings clear. Do not cover the rear or place objects that block airflow.
  • Do not place hot food or open containers with liquids inside. Distribute the load without blocking airflow between drawers and shelves.
  • Do not use sharp objects, knives or metal tools to remove ice. For defrosting, follow a controlled process without applying direct heat.
  • Unplug before cleaning. Do not spray water or use abrasive products on electrical components; use a slightly damp cloth.
  • If you notice a strange smell of gas, or unusual noise accompanied by abnormal heating, ventilate the area, keep flames and sparks away and disconnect by removing the plug if it is safe to do so. Contact authorised service.

Storage and maintenance

  • Place it in dry indoor areas, away from high ambient humidity or splashes. Avoid outdoor areas or rooms without ventilation.
  • Leave space around it for heat dissipation and regularly clean dust from the grilles and rear area according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Keep the door seals clean and check that they close properly. If significant frost builds up, carry out a controlled defrost.
  • Collect defrost water and dry the floor to prevent slips and damage.
  • Organise and rotate food. Avoid overloading the drawers to prevent straining runners and hinges.
  • In the event of a power cut, keep the door closed for as long as possible. Check the condition of the food and avoid refreezing products that have completely defrosted.
  • If you detect damage to the cable, plug, casing, or signs of overheating, do not use the appliance until it has been checked by authorised service.

Restrictions on use

  • Use the freezer only for freezing and storing suitable food and beverages. Do not store solvents, pressurised aerosols, fuels, high-strength spirits or chemicals.
  • Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Keep keys or locks out of their reach and supervise when opening and closing the door.
  • Do not climb on or hang from the door or drawers. Do not use it as a support, step or workbench.
  • Do not pierce the interior or tamper with the refrigeration circuit. Do not modify parts or install accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • To move or transport it, empty the contents, secure the drawers and door, keep the unit upright and ask another person for assistance.
  • When disposing of an old unit, secure or remove the door to prevent accidental entrapment.
  • Avoid handling the plug or switches with wet hands.
