Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Overpressure or failure of the tank, connections or hoses, with a risk of parts being ejected and injury.
- Hose or coupling whiplash if they become detached suddenly.
- Projection of particles and risk of air injection into skin or eyes when blowing or using pneumatic tools.
- Burns from contact with hot surfaces of the motor, block or pipework.
- Exposure to high noise levels and prolonged vibration.
- Electrical hazard from damaged cables, wet plugs or an unsuitable mains socket.
- Inhalation of dust, oil mists or vapours; in combustion models, hazardous exhaust gases.
- Impacts, entrapment or falls when moving heavy equipment or when handling casings and guards.
Safe use
- Place the compressor on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area with the cooling grilles clear.
- Before each use, visually inspect the tank, hoses, connections and safety devices; do not use the equipment if you observe damage, corrosion or leaks.
- Use hoses, couplings and accessories rated for the maximum pressure of the unit and the tool to be used.
- Set the outlet pressure to that recommended by the tool and avoid exceeding the limits specified by the manufacturer.
- Secure connections and restrain hoses to prevent whiplash; keep them out of walkways to prevent trips.
- Do not direct compressed air at people or use air to clean clothing or skin; use blow guns with a suitable nozzle and pressure control.
- Wear eye and hearing protection; add gloves and a mask when particles or aerosols are generated.
- Keep hands, hair and loose clothing away from moving parts; do not remove casings or guards.
- Disconnect the power supply and release system pressure before changing accessories, making adjustments or moving the equipment.
- Avoid using the compressor near flames, sparks or flammable vapours.
Storage and maintenance
- After use, switch off, disconnect and release pressure; periodically drain condensate from the tank to reduce corrosion.
- Keep the intake filter and ventilation grilles clean as per the manufacturer's instructions.
- Regularly inspect hoses, couplings and pressure gauges; replace any damaged or worn components.
- Keep the area around the compressor free of dust and loose objects that could obstruct ventilation.
- Store the equipment in a dry place, protected from moisture, frost and impacts; avoid environments with corrosive agents.
- If the model is lubricated, check and change the oil when appropriate, avoiding spillage.
- During transport, secure the compressor and accessories to prevent tipping and damage.
Restrictions on use
- Use only by adults familiar with the equipment; keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use in enclosed spaces without ventilation; models with combustion engines must not be used indoors.
- Do not operate in potentially explosive atmospheres or near flammable materials.
- Do not exceed the specified pressure, flow rate or duty cycle; allow rest periods to prevent overheating.
- Do not modify or bypass safety devices; do not drill, weld or repair the tank.
- Do not use the compressor as a source of breathable air or for medical applications.
- Do not use the equipment if leaks, unusual noises or vibrations, overheating or repeated tripping of the thermal cut-out are detected.
- Do not lift or drag the compressor by the hose or the cable.
