Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls or detachments caused by poorly secured supports, brackets and trunking.
- Electrical hazards involving cables, plugs and condensate pumps exposed to moisture or improper connections.
- Leaks, flooding and mould due to bent, poorly levelled or blocked drain hoses.
- Cuts from sharp metal edges on trunking, clamps and profiles.
- Equipment damage or loss of performance due to incompatible accessories or obstruction of air inlets and sensors.
- Tripping hazards from loose hoses and cables in walkways.
- Risks associated with remote control batteries (ingestion of button/coin cells, leakage or overheating).
- Vibration and abnormal noises due to poorly installed anti-vibration mounts or deflectors.
Safe use
- Check the accessory is compatible with your model and the dimensions/load rating before installation.
- Disconnect the unit from the power supply before handling electrical accessories; do not handle them with wet hands.
- For drains, maintain the recommended slope, avoid kinks and check the flow by pouring water to confirm there are no blockages.
- For condensate pumps, ensure a stable installation and test start-up and water discharge before continuous use.
- Use fixings suitable for the wall/ceiling material and use all fixing points provided by the accessory manufacturer.
- Cover sharp edges and wear gloves when cutting or handling trunking, profiles and clamps.
- Do not drill or force the air conditioner’s casing or touch the refrigerant circuit; keep heat sources or open flames away from pipes and insulation.
- Keep cables and hoses away from hot or moving parts and avoid trapping them in doors or windows.
- For remotes, insert the batteries with the correct polarity; do not mix new and used batteries or different types; keep batteries out of the reach of children. In case of button/coin cell ingestion, seek immediate emergency medical attention.
- Do not block ventilation grilles or emergency exits with window kits or deflectors.
Storage and maintenance
- Store hoses, insulation and cables in a dry place, without weights on top and away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Clean filters, grilles and deflectors regularly following the manufacturer’s recommendations; avoid abrasive products or solvents.
- Inspect and clean drains periodically to prevent biofilm, odours and blockages; do not use corrosive products.
- For condensate pumps, clean the reservoir and lines, and check the float returns freely and that it discharges correctly.
- Inspect supports, brackets and fasteners; replace corroded or deformed parts and retighten any loose fixings.
- Examine cables and connectors for cracks, cuts or discolouration; replace any damaged component.
- Remove the batteries from the remote if it will not be used for extended periods and store them in their original packaging.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use accessories outdoors or in very humid areas unless they are designed for it.
- Do not modify or drill equipment components to adapt the accessory; avoid makeshift cuts or splices.
- Do not use extension leads, power strips or adaptors that do not support the unit’s power rating or lack adequate protection.
- Do not install or handle accessories that affect the refrigerant circuit or the fixed electrical installation unless you are qualified; these operations must be carried out by competent professionals.
- Do not leave hoses or cables crossing walkways without protection or signage.
- Do not use the accessory if you observe cracks, deformations, advanced corrosion, a burning smell or abnormal operation.
- Keep small parts and batteries out of the reach of children and pets.
