Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Fire or smoke due to overloading, short circuits, faulty connections or inadequate ventilation during charging.
- Burns from heating of the casing, connectors or cables under high demand.
- Electric shock when handling terminals or plugs with wet hands or wet equipment.
- Damage from impacts, drops or crushing that may cause leaks, irritating odours or ejection of particles.
- Damage to connected equipment from voltage spikes, reverse polarity or use of unsuitable cables/adapters.
- Trip and entrapment hazards due to the weight of the battery pack and the routing of cables.
- Ingress of dust or liquids into ports and vents that can cause electrical failure.
Safe use
- Before use, check the general condition: do not use the battery pack if it is swollen, cracked, leaking or has a chemical odour.
- Use only chargers, power supplies and cables compatible with and specified for the model; avoid makeshift adapters and forced connections.
- Charge and operate the unit on a stable, rigid, non-flammable surface, in a ventilated area; do not cover it or place it in bags while charging.
- Keep the product, connectors and your hands dry; if they have become wet, wait until they are completely dry before connecting.
- Observe the polarity of the terminals and the rated power; do not overload the outputs or daisy-chain multiple extension leads.
- Connect and disconnect with the device switched off where possible; pull the plug, not the cable.
- Avoid impacts and drops; do not pierce, open or modify the battery pack or its protection systems.
- During charging, supervise the unit; if you notice excessive heat, crackling sounds, smoke or odour, disconnect and allow it to cool in a clear area away from combustible materials.
Storage and maintenance
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- For long periods without use, keep it at a partial state of charge and recharge periodically to avoid deep discharge.
- Protect the terminals to prevent contact with metallic objects during transport; use covers or caps when available.
- Clean with a dry cloth; do not use solvents, aerosols or high-pressure water. Keep ports and vents free of dust.
- Regularly inspect the casing and connectors; if there is deformation, corrosion or leakage, stop using it and arrange for its safe decommissioning.
- If it overheats or emits smoke/odour, place it on a non-flammable surface, ventilate the area and do not handle it with bare hands until it has cooled.
- Do not dispose of it with household waste; take it to designated collection points for batteries and electrical equipment.
Restrictions on use
- Keep out of reach of children; for use by adults only or under responsible supervision.
- Do not use in atmospheres with flammable gases, vapours or dust, or in spaces without adequate ventilation.
- Do not cover the battery pack during operation or install it in enclosed cabinets without air circulation.
- Do not use if it has been immersed in water or suffered liquid damage.
- Do not transport it loose alongside metallic objects (keys, tools) that could short-circuit the terminals.
- Do not leave it inside vehicles in the sun or in environments with extreme temperatures.
- Do not use to power life-critical equipment, alarms or systems whose interruption could cause harm, unless the manufacturer expressly specifies it for that purpose.
