Key risks

Safe use
- Check that the base is firm, level and well-drained; follow the product-specific instructions.
- Wear gloves when handling pieces and lift with assistance to avoid injury.
- Place and fix the pieces securely, without play or protruding edges; inspect periodically and readjust if necessary.
- Keep the surface free of standing water, leaves, sand and grease; clean up spills immediately.
- Take extra care when wet or icy; wear footwear with non-slip soles.
- Avoid dragging furniture, planters or barbecues; use protectors on feet and soft wheels.
- Around heat sources, use insulating bases and observe safety distances appropriate to the material.
- In winter, remove snow and ice with suitable tools; avoid de-icers that are not compatible with the material.
- For cleaning, prefer water and a neutral detergent; avoid acids, concentrated bleaches, solvents, or bringing a pressure washer too close to joints and edges.
Storage and maintenance
- Store uninstalled material in a dry, ventilated place and protected from the weather; keep packages closed until use.
- Stack on a flat, stable surface; do not overload or leave overhangs.
- Raise wood or composite products off the ground and cover them without fully sealing to prevent condensation.
- Handle and transport, avoiding impacts to edges and corners.
- Sweep and wash regularly; remove mould, moss and algae with products suitable for the material.
- Check and replace joints, sealants, anchors or clips when they show wear or become loose.
- On exterior wood surfaces, apply oil or woodstain when necessary, following the product instructions.
- Keep drains, gutters and expansion joints free of obstructions to promote drainage.
Restrictions of use
- Do not install on unstable or soft bases, with seepage or without a minimum fall for drainage.
- Do not use in continuous immersion or inside pool basins except for products expressly indicated.
- Do not overload with vehicles, machinery or high point loads if the system is not designed for it.
- Do not use open flames, embers or heated tools on the surface.
- Do not apply salt, aggressive chemicals or abrasive cleaners if the material is not compatible.
- Do not cover drains, gullies or expansion joints with rugs, planters or fixed objects.
- Keep children and pets under supervision on wet or icy surfaces and during installation or curing.
- Do not drill, cut or modify structural elements of decking or joists/battens without understanding their function and the manufacturer's instructions.
