Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electric shock or short circuit due to moisture, faulty plugs or damaged cables.
- Overheating and smoke emission if the air inlets or outlets are blocked or excessive dust accumulates.
- Irritation of eyes or airways and dispersal of allergens when handling saturated filters.
- Knocks, falls or trips caused by unstable positioning or by the cable in walkways.
- Injury from contact with the fan if fingers or objects are inserted into the grilles.
- Discomfort in sensitive individuals if features such as ionisation or UV light are used improperly on models that include them.
- A stuffy environment due to lack of ventilation; an air purifier does not reduce CO2 in the air.
Safe use
- Place the unit on a firm, level surface, leaving clear space around it and away from curtains or objects that could cover the grilles.
- Connect only to a socket in good condition; avoid overloaded extension leads and do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
- Keep the purifier dry; do not use it in areas with water splashes or extreme humidity.
- Switch off and unplug before cleaning or changing filters. Handle the filters carefully; if you are sensitive to dust, wear gloves and light respiratory protection.
- Remove the filters without shaking them, place them in a sealed bag, and gently clean the compartment without wetting electrical components.
- Do not insert objects into the grilles or cover the appliance with fabrics. Avoid placing objects on top.
- Do not add oils, essences or chemicals unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Ventilate the room regularly; the purifier complements ventilation, it does not replace it.
- Manage the cable so it is not taut and does not pose an obstacle, and do not move the unit by pulling on it.
Storage and maintenance
- Regularly clean the exterior and the grilles with a dry or slightly damp cloth, always with the unit unplugged.
- Replace the filters when they are saturated or as directed by the manufacturer. Do not wash HEPA-type filters unless specified.
- If the model has washable pre-filters, dry them completely before reinstalling.
- Periodically check the condition of the cable and the plug; if you notice damage, do not use the appliance.
- Store the purifier in a dry, clean and ventilated place, protected from dust, rain and direct sunlight.
- Do not store damp filters to prevent mould growth and bad odours.
Restrictions on use
- Not suitable for outdoor use or for very humid areas (bathrooms, showers, utility rooms) or where there is a risk of splashes.
- Do not use the purifier near heat sources, flames, flammable aerosols or in areas with combustible dust or vapours.
- Do not use it as a kitchen extractor nor during building works with very heavy dust; it may become saturated quickly and overheat.
- Do not allow children to handle the appliance without supervision. Keep it out of reach of small hands and curious pets.
- Avoid opening the casing or accessing internal components. On models with ionisation or UV light, do not use these functions if they cause you discomfort.
- If you have allergies or asthma, avoid handling used filters or use appropriate protection.
