Wall-mounted Fans
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Fan falling due to inadequate securing of the bracket to the wall.
- Electric shock from a damaged cable, plug or switches, or from exposure to moisture and splashes.
- Fire or overheating due to obstructed grilles, excessive dust build-up, or use with overloaded multi-socket adapters or extension leads.
- Cuts or entrapment with the blades and grille if parts are missing or deformed; risk to fingers, hair or loose clothing.
- Pinching at the hinge points when adjusting tilt or oscillation.
- Trips or accidental tugs due to a poorly routed cable.
- Falls when working at height during installation or cleaning.
Safe use
- Install the fan on a solid, level wall using wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall type, and at a height out of reach of children.
- Leave clear space around the appliance and avoid curtains, bedding or objects that could be drawn into the grille.
- Adjust the tilt or oscillation only with the fan switched off; keep hands away from hinges and moving mechanisms.
- Route the cable along the wall, without tension or crushing, avoiding walkways. Use a socket in good condition and avoid overloaded multi-socket adapters or extension leads.
- Do not insert fingers or objects through the grille; tie back hair and keep loose clothing, cords or pendants away from the airflow.
- Do not cover the fan or block the grilles. Use indoors in dry areas unless the product expressly states it is suitable for damp areas.
- Disconnect from the mains before cleaning or handling pull cords. If you notice a burning smell, sparks, vibration or unusual noise, switch off and unplug.
- If you are unsure about the type of fixing or the wall strength, seek help from a qualified person for installation.
Storage and maintenance
- Switch off and unplug before any cleaning or inspection.
- Clean grille and blades with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid direct water jets and abrasive or spray products on the motor.
- Regularly remove accumulated dust to prevent imbalance, noise and overheating.
- Periodically check screws, wall bracket, and the condition of the grille and cable. Tighten fixings if you notice any play.
- Do not open the motor housing or modify the cable or plug. Repairs must be carried out by a qualified service centre.
- For long periods of non-use, store the fan in a dry place protected from dust and direct sunlight; coil the cable without tension.
- After storage, carry out a brief, supervised test to check there are no vibrations, abnormal noises or play.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for use by children without supervision. Keep the appliance out of their reach and avoid installing it above beds or bunk beds.
- Do not use the fan outdoors or in areas with high humidity or splashes, unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not hang clothes, air fresheners or other objects from the grille, bracket or cable.
- Do not use timers, controllers or accessories that are not compatible with the model.
- Do not use the fan if the grille, blades, bracket, cable or plug are damaged.
- Do not leave the appliance running when no one is in the room for prolonged periods.
