Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Cuts and punctures from the blade's edges and corners.
  • Breakage or detachment of the blade or handle when applying excessive force or leverage.
  • Ejection of splinters, paint and dust while scraping, potentially irritating eyes and airways.
  • Skin irritation from contact with fillers, paint strippers or solvents.
  • Loss of grip and slipping on wet or debris-covered surfaces.
  • Burns when working with a heat gun or on hot surfaces.
  • Electrical hazard when working near sockets or damaged cables.

Safe use

  • Before use, check that the blade is secure, free of cracks and burrs, and that the handle is not loose.
  • Choose a scraper of suitable width and flexibility for the task to avoid overstraining the tool.
  • Hold with a secure grip and make controlled strokes, keeping hands and body out of the blade's path.
  • Do not use the scraper as a lever, chisel or screwdriver; avoid striking it with a hammer unless the model permits it.
  • Wear safety goggles and protective gloves; when scraping materials that generate dust, use a dust mask and ventilate the area.
  • When using heat or chemicals, work in well-ventilated areas and keep the blade away from flames or ignition sources.
  • If working at height, use stable support and do not overreach.
  • On models with a replaceable blade, lock the blade correctly and dispose of used ones safely.

Storage and maintenance

  • Remove filler or paint residues before they harden and dry the tool thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
  • Store it with a blade guard or cover to prevent cuts and damage to other items.
  • Store in a dry place, away from moisture and from heat sources that could deform components.
  • Check and tighten screws or joints; replace blades or handles that are damaged or rusted.
  • Do not sharpen the blade unless specified by the manufacturer; removing burrs reduces the risk of accidental cuts.
  • Transport the scraper separately from food and delicate items.

Restrictions on use

  • Not suitable for food, medical or cosmetic use.
  • Do not use the scraper if the blade is loose, deformed, cracked or heavily corroded.
  • Do not insert the blade into sockets or electrical boxes, nor cut insulation; isolate the power supply if working near electrical installations.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with strong solvents that may damage the handle or blade.
  • Do not carry it in your pocket without a sheath, nor leave it on edges where it could fall.
  • Keep the product out of the reach of children; minors should only use it under adult supervision.
