Usage Warnings

Electric Pizza Makers

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Very hot surfaces and steam when opening the lid, with a risk of burns.
  • Possible smoke or ignition due to grease or residue build-up, or from using it near flammable materials.
  • Electrical risk if it comes into contact with water, if the cable/plug is damaged or if used with unsuitable sockets.
  • Tipping over or falling of the appliance due to placing it on unstable surfaces or pulling on the cable.
  • Fingers trapped in hinges or when closing the lid.
  • Odours or smoke during the first uses or if the food overheats.

Safe use

  • Place the pizza maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, with space around it and away from curtains, paper and other flammable materials.
  • Plug into a socket in good condition and avoid overloading power strips or extension leads with other high-wattage appliances.
  • Keep the cable away from edges, water and hot surfaces; unplug by pulling the plug, not the cable.
  • Do not touch hot areas; use heat-resistant gloves and utensils. Open the lid carefully, keeping hands and face away from steam.
  • Do not leave the pizza maker operating unattended. Monitor cooking to prevent burning and smoke.
  • Remove excess flour/semolina and residues before cooking to reduce smoke. Do not force the lid closed with pizzas that are too thick or with objects.
  • Do not cover the cooking surface or the vents with paper, foil or other materials.
  • If a fire occurs inside, unplug if it is safe to do so and keep the lid closed to smother it. Do not apply water to hot fat.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions on preheating and continuous use times; allow cooling periods if necessary.

Storage and maintenance

  • Unplug and allow it to cool completely before moving, cleaning or storing.
  • Do not immerse the body of the appliance or expose it to jets of water. Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth when cold.
  • Avoid metal scouring pads and abrasive products that may damage the cooking surface (plate or stone, depending on the model).
  • If there are removable parts, wash them according to the instructions and dry them well before reassembling. Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not wet a still-hot surface with cold water).
  • Remove crumbs and grease after each use to prevent smoke, odours and build-up that could catch fire.
  • Periodically check the cable and plug. If they are damaged, do not use the appliance.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place, out of the reach of children. Do not place weight on top that could deform the lid or the hinges. Coil the cable without straining it.

Usage restrictions

  • For indoor domestic use. Do not use outdoors or in damp areas (bathrooms, utility rooms) or near the sink.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets during operation; constant adult supervision is required.
  • Do not use it with external timers, plugs with remote switching or systems that could activate it without supervision.
  • Do not use the pizza maker to heat anything other than food or to dry or heat textiles, paper or plastics.
  • Do not place objects on the lid or cover the appliance while it is in use or cooling.
  • Do not use it if it has suffered impacts, drops, deformation or if the lid does not close properly.
  • Do not use accessories or spare parts that are not suitable for your model.
