Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Electrical hazard from contact with moisture, unsuitable sockets or damaged cables.
  • Water leaks that may cause flooding, slips or damage to flooring.
  • Burns from hot water or steam at the end of high-temperature cycles.
  • Trapping of fingers or clothing if you try to open or touch the drum while it is moving.
  • Movement or excessive vibrations if the washing machine is not level or the load is unevenly distributed.
  • Skin or eye irritation from contact with detergents, fabric softeners or single-dose capsules.
  • Damage from hard objects in pockets (coins, keys) that may break the drum or jam the pump.
  • Odours and mould due to lack of ventilation or insufficient cleaning of the door seal and detergent drawer.

Safe use

  • Install the washing machine on a flat, stable surface; level the feet to reduce vibration and movement.
  • Connect to an earthed mains socket; avoid extension leads and multi-socket adaptors.
  • Ensure water connections are secure and leak-free; do not kink or bend the hoses.
  • Do not overload the drum and distribute the laundry evenly; select a programme and temperature suitable for the fabric.
  • Check and empty pockets; use laundry bags for small items or those with drawstrings.
  • Use detergents suitable for washing machines and the recommended dose; do not mix products or use solvents.
  • Keep hands away from the drum while it is spinning; wait for it to stop and for the door lock to release before opening.
  • Activate the child lock if available and do not allow children to climb on or play with the washing machine.
  • Do not wash garments contaminated with petrol, solvents, flammable oils or other volatile substances.
  • If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparks or a major leak, stop the cycle, unplug and close the water supply tap.

Storage and maintenance

  • After use, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to ventilate when it is safe to do so.
  • Periodically clean the door seal and detergent drawer; remove dirt and lint residues.
  • Check hoses and connections regularly; replace them if they show cracks, bulges or rust.
  • Clean the drain pump filter as often as indicated by the manufacturer and remove any trapped objects.
  • Descale with suitable products when necessary according to the water hardness.
  • Keep the area dry; wipe up spills immediately and do not use water jets to clean the exterior.
  • If you will be away for an extended period, close the water inlet tap and unplug the appliance.
  • For moving or storage: disconnect, drain any residual water and, if required by the model, fit the transit bolts; move with two people.
  • If stacking a tumble dryer on top, use a dedicated stacking kit and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Usage restrictions

  • For indoor use only in dry, sheltered locations; do not expose to rain, frost or environments with excessive condensation.
  • Do not use the washing machine if the mains lead, plug, door or drum are damaged.
  • Do not tamper with or open internal panels; internal repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.
  • Do not place heavy objects or containers with liquids on top that could tip over.
  • Do not obstruct the rear or sides; leave sufficient clearance for ventilation and for the hoses.
  • Do not sit or stand on the door or the cabinet.
  • Supervise use in the presence of children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or cognitive capabilities.
  • Avoid leaving the washing machine running for long periods without supervision, especially if there is a risk of leaks.
