Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Leaks from loose connections or damaged hoses that can cause flooding and damage to nearby furniture or equipment.
  • Overpressure or water hammer that may damage housings, pipework and fittings.
  • Contamination of the treated water due to spent filters, a degraded membrane or unhygienic handling.
  • Bacterial growth due to stagnation when the system remains unused for prolonged periods.
  • Damage to the equipment if connected to the hot water line or exposed to extreme temperatures or freezing.
  • Spills if the reject line is not securely fastened to the drain or lacks protection against backflow.
  • Risk of drips near sockets or appliances if the installation is not monitored.

Safe use

  • Connect only to the cold, potable mains water supply. Do not use with water of dubious origin without appropriate pre-treatment.
  • Shut off the stop valve and depressurise before installing, replacing filters or handling connections.
  • Use tubing and fittings compatible with potable water, in good condition and fully inserted; avoid overtightening.
  • Secure the reject line to a suitable drain protected against backflow or odours.
  • After installation or filter replacement, flush and discard the first litres according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Place the system in an accessible, stable location with space for inspection and cartridge changes.
  • Check for possible leaks during the first hours and days of use and after any work carried out.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources; do not connect to hot water.

Storage and maintenance

  • Replace pre-filters, post-filters and the membrane within the recommended timeframes and flow rates; do not exceed service life.
  • Carry out periodic cleaning and disinfection of the unit and the tank, especially after periods of inactivity.
  • Protect the system from freezing and high temperatures; do not install outdoors without adequate shelter.
  • Periodically inspect hoses, housings, seals and valves; replace worn or cracked parts.
  • Keep the area dry and ventilated; remove any drips immediately and trace their source.
  • Store spare parts in their sealed packaging, in a clean, dry place; handle cartridges with clean hands.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not use with hot water or outside the pressure and temperature ranges specified by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use to treat microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown origin without appropriate pre-treatment.
  • Do not modify the equipment or disable valves, restrictors or safety devices.
  • Do not use if persistent odours, tastes or turbidity are detected after the initial flush; stop use and inspect.
  • Not intended for critical applications (e.g., medical uses or industrial processes) without specific water quality controls.
  • Keep out of the reach of children and prevent them from handling valves, the tap or connections.
  • If you do not have basic plumbing knowledge, installation and maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel.
