Main risks
- Cuts, pinching injuries and splinters when handling boards, skirting boards and mouldings.
- Impact or injury from heavy packs falling during transport or installation.
- Slips due to sanding dust, adhesive residues, or wet or freshly finished surfaces.
- Irritation of the respiratory tract, eyes and skin from wood dust and vapours from adhesives, oils or varnishes.
- Moisture damage: swelling, warping, mould growth in the subfloor, or bad odours.
- Fire risk from solvents and sanding dust in the presence of sparks or flames.
- Flying particles and noise when cutting or sanding with power tools.
Safe use
- Handle packs with two people and cut straps away from your body; wear gloves, safety goggles and suitable respiratory protection when sanding.
- Work in a stable, clean and well-ventilated area; keep the floor free of cables, debris and liquids to prevent trips and slips.
- Make cuts and drill holes with tools in good condition and sharp blades; secure parts firmly and vacuum dust frequently.
- Ventilate continuously when using adhesives, oils or varnishes, and keep flames, sparks and other ignition sources away.
- Observe the drying and curing times indicated by the product; do not walk on the floor or move furniture until the finish is completely dry.
- Before installation, check there are no leaks or wet works in the room and that the subfloor is dry, clean and level.
- If there is underfloor heating, verify the floor's compatibility and avoid sudden temperature changes.
- During installation or finishing, keep children and pets away and clearly mark wet or work areas.
Storage and maintenance
- Store packs indoors, horizontally, in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources; avoid leaning them against walls or on damp floors.
- Allow the material to acclimatise in the room before installation, as per the manufacturer's instructions.
- Clean with a dry or slightly damp mop; remove spills immediately and avoid excessive water.
- Do not use steam mops or abrasive products; test any cleaner in an inconspicuous area.
- Fit felt pads to furniture and use doormats to reduce the ingress of sand and grit.
- Do not drag furniture; lift it and use protection when moving heavy items.
- During sanding or renovation work, collect dust with suitable extraction and ventilate until odours and particles are eliminated.
- Protect from intense, prolonged sunlight to minimise colour changes.
Restrictions of use
- Suitable for dry indoor areas unless the product states otherwise; avoid bathrooms, saunas and areas with persistent humidity or flood risk.
- Maintain distance and protection from fireplaces, stoves and other intense heat sources.
- Do not walk on or place furniture on freshly glued flooring or a wet finish.
- Do not install over unstable or very damp subfloors, or over incompatible underfloor heating.
- Do not mix adhesives, oils or varnishes of different types without verifying their compatibility.
- Avoid stiletto heels and keep pets' nails trimmed to reduce marks and scratches.
- Do not use the floor as a work surface, structural support, or outdoors unless expressly stated by the product.
