Usage Warnings

Hydraulic Jacks

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Crushing from the load falling or descending unexpectedly if the jack fails or shifts.
  • Tipping due to support on soft, sloping or uneven surfaces, or poor weight distribution.
  • Slippage at the support point due to grease, oil, rust or incorrect placement.
  • Overloading or exceeding the maximum stroke, potentially causing damage and loss of stability.
  • Hand or foot entrapment when pumping, positioning or removing the jack and stands.
  • Oil leaks or hydraulic failure causing sudden descent.
  • Damage to the vehicle or structure when lifting at points not designed for it.

Safe use

  • Before each use, check the general condition, absence of leaks and deformation, and that the stated capacity covers the load.
  • Work on a firm, level, non-slip surface; apply the handbrake and fit wheel chocks to the wheels remaining on the ground.
  • Place the saddle centred on the support point recommended by the load/vehicle manufacturer; ensure flat, stable contact.
  • Raise gradually without lateral loads; keep the area clear and never place any part of your body under the raised load.
  • Once at the desired height, support the load with axle stands/jack stands of adequate capacity; do not work with the load supported by the jack alone.
  • Do not use unstable or improvised packing (wood, bricks, non-specific wedges); avoid adapters or extensions that compromise stability.
  • Lower slowly, controlling the valve; keep hands and feet away from shear points and the load path.
  • Do not move the load or the vehicle while it is lifted by the jack; do not use the jack as a permanent support or as a pulling device or press.
  • Wear protective gloves and safety footwear to improve grip and protect against knocks and pinches.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean dirt, dust and oil from the saddle and support areas after each use to prevent slippage in the next operation.
  • Store the jack upright, in a dry place protected from moisture and corrosion; avoid impacts and drops during transport.
  • Periodically check fasteners, wheels (if fitted), handle and the condition of the seals; do not use the equipment if you detect leaks or damage.
  • Keep moving points lightly lubricated and follow the manufacturer's instructions for bleeding or topping up the oil when applicable.
  • If the jack descends on its own or does not hold the load, stop using it immediately and carry out the checks and adjustments indicated by the manufacturer.

Restrictions on use

  • For lifting static loads within its capacity only; not suitable for lifting people or for work in which the load moves.
  • Do not use on slopes, soft, slippery or icy surfaces.
  • Do not exceed the rated capacity or the maximum lift height specified for the model.
  • Do not work or remain under the load without suitable supports correctly positioned.
  • Keep out of reach of children and people unfamiliar with its operation; requires the operator's constant attention and control.
  • Avoid use near flames or sources of ignition; oil spills can be flammable and slippery.
  • In extreme cold or heat, note that system response may vary; raise and lower with increased caution.
