Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Entrapment and impact injuries when inserting the probe into moving machinery or when handling covers and access panels.
- Burns from contact with engines, pipes or other hot surfaces, as well as from the probe heating up after prolonged use.
- Cuts or punctures from sharp edges, screws or burrs in inspected spaces.
- Electrical hazard when using the equipment in damp environments, with damaged cables, or near energised components.
- Slips, trips and falls due to loose cables, working on ladders, or unstable postures.
- Damage to the equipment due to improper immersion, exposure to dust, oils or incompatible chemicals, or by forcing excessive bends.
- Glare and eye strain from the integrated light in enclosed or dark spaces.
- Contact with dirt, mould or wastewater that may pose a biological risk.
- Risk of fire or explosion in the presence of flammable vapours or atmospheres.
Safe use
- Disconnect and lock out machinery before inserting the probe, and wait for surfaces to cool.
- Check the probe, connectors and battery before use; do not use the equipment if you notice damage, cracks, swelling or corrosion.
- Select and secure accessories correctly (mirrors, hooks, magnets) and avoid loose or improvised parts.
- Insert the probe gently without forcing it; avoid sharp bends and tugs to prevent damage or snagging.
- Keep hands, clothing and hair away from moving parts; wear protective gloves and eyewear where appropriate.
- Avoid looking directly at the light source at close range; adjust the brightness if the model allows.
- Do not use the video endoscope while it is charging or with wet hands; keep the main unit away from water.
- Ensure that only parts designed for immersion are submerged, and never the main unit if it is not intended for immersion.
- Organise the work area: secure cables, use a stable ladder, and avoid awkward postures or overreaching.
- In dirty areas or where there is waste, use appropriate protection (gloves, mask) and wash your hands after the task.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean the probe and camera after each use with a soft cloth and neutral detergent; dry completely before storing.
- Disinfect the probe when it has been in drains or other unhygienic areas, following basic hygiene practices.
- Avoid harsh solvents, direct compressed air on the lens, and abrasive objects that could scratch it.
- Inspect lenses, seals and accessories; replace damaged parts and do not carry out makeshift repairs with tapes or adhesives.
- Coil the probe without twisting or tight bends; protect the tip and store the equipment in its case.
- Store in a dry, clean and ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Charge the battery with an appropriate charger, do not cover the equipment and do not leave it charging unattended; store batteries away from metal objects.
Restrictions on use
- Do not insert into the human or animal body; it is not a medical device.
- Do not use in atmospheres with flammable gases or dusts, or in potentially explosive areas, unless specifically designed for such environments.
- Do not immerse the main unit or use it in heavy rain if the product is not rated for it; avoid deep or prolonged immersion.
- Do not force it through holes that are too small, nor bend the probe at tight angles.
- Do not use the video endoscope as the sole basis for critical safety decisions without other independent checks.
- Do not allow use by children; keep out of their reach and supervise inexperienced users.
- Do not modify the equipment, pierce the probe or open the battery compartment.
- If you use magnetic accessories, keep them away from cards, magnetic media and sensitive devices.
