Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Possible electric shock when connecting the logger or its probes to live circuits or unsuitable power supplies.
- Risk of battery overheating, leakage or fire if damaged, incorrectly charged or exposed to extreme heat.
- Damage from moisture, dust or condensation that may affect operation and data integrity.
- Incorrect readings due to improper configuration, poorly positioned sensors, or lack of regular verification.
- Loss or corruption of data due to power cuts, insufficient memory, impacts or unexpected disconnections.
- Trips and snags caused by cables and probes laid out in walkways.
- Electromagnetic interference that may alter measurements or affect nearby equipment.
Safe use
- Before starting, check the measurement ranges and permissible environmental operating conditions for the device and sensors.
- Whenever possible, connect or reposition probes with circuits de-energised and use insulated accessories rated for the voltage and current range.
- Place the logger on a stable, ventilated surface, away from heat sources, excessive humidity and strong vibrations.
- Keep cables tidy and secured to prevent pulling, pinching or connector damage.
- Check available battery and memory; set date/time, sampling intervals and, if appropriate, run a brief test to confirm correct logging.
- Avoid placing the device next to powerful motors, microwave ovens, transformers, or other sources of strong electromagnetic fields.
- If measuring hot or cold surfaces, or in the presence of corrosive agents, handle the probes with appropriate protection and avoid direct skin contact.
- Use only compatible, in good condition power supplies and cables; unplug the charger if you detect odour, abnormal heat or noises.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the device clean and dry, at a moderate temperature, avoiding abrupt changes that promote condensation.
- For long periods without use, remove or disconnect the batteries if possible and check their condition regularly; always observe the polarity when installing them.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth; do not use solvents, harsh sprays or compressed air in ports or connectors.
- Regularly inspect cables, connectors and probes; replace worn, frayed or corroded parts immediately.
- Transport the logger in a padded case or bag to protect it from impacts.
- Back up data frequently and, where applicable, keep firmware/software up to date following the manufacturer's instructions.
- If the device has been exposed to moisture or condensation, allow it to dry completely before switching it on.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the logger outside the voltage, current, temperature or humidity ranges specified for the model and its probes.
- Do not open, modify or pierce the casing; do not attempt to repair or replace integrated batteries.
- Do not connect directly to the mains or to high-energy lines without accessories expressly designed for that purpose.
- Do not use it in potentially explosive atmospheres or in the presence of flammable gases/dusts.
- Do not use it as a safety system, for critical control of vital processes, or for medical use.
- Keep the product out of the reach of children and provide supervision when used by inexperienced persons.
- Do not expose the device to heavy rain, immersion or prolonged direct sunlight, unless the model is designed for it.
