Warnings and safety precautions
Main risks
- Impacts or entrapment with the rotor, cups or vane; possible snagging of hair or loose clothing.
- Falls and slips when measuring on rooftops, ladders or uneven ground.
- Risk from electrical storms or proximity to power lines and aerials.
- Loss of control of the instrument due to strong gusts or squally winds.
- Damage from water, dust or corrosion if the equipment is not weather-resistant.
- Battery issues (leaks, overheating or short circuits).
- Incorrect readings due to sensor obstruction, poor orientation or lack of maintenance.
- Hazard when approaching propellers, fans or moving machinery.
- Risk of ingestion or choking from small parts and button batteries.
Safe use
- Follow the specific instructions for your model before first use.
- Keep fingers, hair and clothing away from the rotor; stop it before handling or transporting.
- Secure the equipment properly (tripod, mast or wrist strap) and work on stable surfaces.
- Take measurements away from unprotected edges and operating machinery.
- Cease use during electrical storms and keep your distance from overhead lines.
- Check that the rotor turns freely, free of dirt and without rubbing; do not insert objects into the sensor.
- Install or replace batteries observing polarity; do not mix types or new with used.
- Charge only with recommended accessories, in a well-ventilated area and without covering the device.
- Allow the instrument to acclimatise to ambient temperature to stabilise readings.
- Do not modify, drill or lubricate moving parts unless directed by the manufacturer.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft cloth; remove dust, insects or grit from the rotor with gentle movements.
- Avoid solvents and compressed air on sensors; on models with a delicate probe, do not touch the sensing element.
- Dry completely after rain or sea spray; where applicable, rinse with fresh water and dry before storage.
- Store in a pouch or case, in a dry, ventilated place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Protect from impacts, drops and pressure on the probe or rotor shaft.
- Remove the batteries if you will not use the equipment for long periods and check for possible leaks.
- Periodically check housings, screws and connectors; discontinue use if damage is detected.
- Follow the manufacturer's recommendations on inspection and calibration intervals.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use as a safety device or for critical automatic control.
- Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or in the presence of flammable dust/gas unless explicitly specified for the product.
- Do not submerge or expose to high-pressure jets if the model does not permit it.
- Do not bring close to propellers, turbines or unguarded fans.
- Do not use during storms with electrical activity or in open areas where it could act as a high point.
- Do not leave the product or its batteries within reach of children or pets; minors should use it only under adult supervision.
- Do not exceed the temperature, humidity or airspeed ranges specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not force the rotor or use the instrument as a handle or anchoring point.
