Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Jamming of the probe in pipes, ducts or cavities, which may damage the installation or the equipment.
- Knocks, trips or falls when working on ladders or when distracted by looking at the screen.
- Cuts or punctures when inserting the probe into areas with sharp edges, swarf or protruding parts.
- Exposure to dirt, wastewater, mould, dust or chemicals that may cause irritation or infection.
- Glare and possible eye discomfort from the bright light of the camera head.
- Heating of the camera head after prolonged use, with a risk of minor burns on contact.
- Risk of electric shock if used near live circuits or in very damp environments.
- Snagging on moving parts (fans, pumps) or suction in ducts with air or liquid flow.
- Risk of fire or explosion in atmospheres containing flammable gases or dust.
Safe use
- Plan the route before inserting the probe and ensure the equipment to be inspected is switched off and stationary.
- Wear gloves, safety goggles and a mask or respirator when there is dust, splashing or strong odours; ventilate the area where possible.
- Check the condition of the probe, sheath, connectors and battery before each use; do not use the equipment if you observe cuts, abrasions or loose fittings.
- Insert and withdraw the probe slowly, without forcing it around tight bends; if you encounter resistance, back off slightly and reorient.
- Keep cables tidy to avoid snags and trips; do not carry the equipment hanging from the probe.
- Avoid looking directly at the camera head light; reduce the brightness or switch it off when bringing the camera back out.
- Do not use the equipment while it is connected to the charger in damp areas; charge in a dry, stable location.
- If working at height or on ladders, secure your position and use a stable support for the screen to avoid losing your balance.
- In dirty environments or where residues are present, use protective covers or sleeves for the probe when recommended by the manufacturer, and disinfect after use.
- If using accessories (hooks, magnets), fix them correctly and avoid introducing items that could come loose inside the duct.
- Stop the operation if the probe becomes stuck; do not pull sharply to avoid breakage or damage to the installation.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean and dry the probe and camera head after each use; remove any dirt before storing.
- Disinfect the equipment when it has come into contact with wastewater or biological materials, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Coil the probe without twists or tight kinks; use the case or reel to prevent damage to the sheath.
- Store the equipment in a dry, ventilated place, protected from dust, moisture, heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Protect the lens with its cap or cover to prevent scratches.
- Charge the battery at reasonable intervals if it will not be used for an extended period, and avoid extreme temperatures during charging and storage.
- Periodically inspect the probe sheath, connectors and seals; replace damaged components and stop using the equipment if you detect cracks or moisture ingress.
- Do not modify the equipment or open compartments not intended for the user, to avoid compromising ingress protection or safety.
Restrictions on use
- Not suitable for medical or veterinary use, nor for insertion into the body.
- Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or where flammable gases or dust are present, unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not insert into moving machinery or into ducts with active air or liquid flow without first stopping them.
- Do not use near energised electrical circuits or in panels with voltage applied.
- Do not immerse or expose to heavy rain if the product is not designed for it; check the manufacturer's guidance before use in damp environments.
- Do not use the probe to push, clear blockages or lift loads; it is designed solely for visual inspection.
- Do not leave the equipment within reach of children or allow its use without appropriate supervision.
