Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Shelf falling due to insufficient anchoring or overloading, with risk of injury and property damage.
- Pulling away from plasterboard, hollow or deteriorated walls if unsuitable fixings are used.
- Injury from objects falling from the shelf, or from placing the shelf at head height in walk-through areas.
- Accidentally drilling into electrical cables, or water or gas pipes while drilling.
- Cuts or scratches when handling brackets or boards with sharp edges.
- Finger trapping when positioning or fitting the shelf onto the brackets.
- Corrosion or rust in humid environments that weakens the fixings.
- Wall damage due to the use of unsuitable tools or fixings.
Safe use
- Follow the product instructions and observe the maximum load; take into account the weight of the shelf and the items you will place on it.
- Check the condition of the wall and use fixings compatible with its material (solid, hollow or plasterboard).
- Before drilling, verify that there are no cables or pipes in the installation area.
- Mark and level the fixing points; install with appropriate tools and tighten without over-tightening.
- Ask for assistance with long or heavy shelves and whenever you need to work at height.
- Ensure the shelf is properly seated on all brackets and check its stability before loading it.
- Distribute the load evenly and place heavy items near the fixing points.
- Keep the work area clear and use eye protection and gloves where appropriate.
Storage and maintenance
- Store brackets and fixings in a clean, dry place; avoid moisture and impacts.
- Keep small parts out of reach of children and pets.
- Clean with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive or corrosive products that could damage finishes and fixings.
- Periodically check that screws and anchors are not loose and show no rust or deformation; re-tighten if necessary.
- Replace any damaged or corroded parts; do not reuse damaged wall plugs.
- If the shelf or wall becomes damp, dry them and check the fixings are secure before loading again.
- During moves or relocation, dismantle the shelves to avoid strain and breakage.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the brackets to hang from, climb on, or as a step.
- Do not exceed the stated maximum load; include the weight of the shelf itself in the calculation.
- Do not install on unstable walls, or on walls with active damp, cracks or weak finishes, without the appropriate fixings.
- Do not modify the brackets or replace the screws or fixings with non-recommended parts.
- Do not install near sources of extreme heat or open flames.
- Do not use outdoors or in very humid areas unless the product states it is suitable for this.
- In homes with children, avoid placing heavy or fragile objects within their reach and ensure they do not hang from the shelf.
- Avoid placing protruding shelves in walkways at a height where people could bump into them.
