Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Cuts or punctures when placing in or removing knives, forks or other sharp utensils.
- Shifting inside the drawer that can jam the drawer or cause cutlery to fall.
- Tipping of table-top models if loaded unevenly.
- Breaks, cracks or splinters that create sharp edges.
- Moisture and food residues that encourage mould, unpleasant odours and deterioration of the cutlery.
- Heat warping if very hot utensils are placed inside or it is exposed to direct heat sources.
- Pinching when adjusting movable or extendable dividers.
Safe use
- Place the cutlery tray on a flat, stable surface; in drawers, use stops or non-slip pads if needed to prevent movement.
- Distribute the cutlery evenly and do not overfill the compartments.
- Keep knives and very sharp items in separate compartments; position tips downwards or use blade guards or sheaths.
- Only place cutlery that is cool and dry to prevent burns, warping or rusting.
- Open and close the drawer gently to avoid shifting the tray or trapping fingers.
- Do not use the cutlery tray as a chopping board, drainer or food tray.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean before first use and regularly with a mild detergent; rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Avoid prolonged soaking and abrasive cleaners that may damage the surface.
- Periodically remove the cutlery tray from the drawer to remove crumbs and dirt; air it to reduce moisture.
- Dry thoroughly before placing the cutlery back to minimise the growth of mould and rust.
- Check for cracks, splinters or loose parts; replace or repair to prevent cuts and dirt build-up.
- Keep away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight.
Usage restrictions
- Not a toy: keep out of reach of unsupervised children, especially if it contains knives or sharp objects.
- Do not use the cutlery tray for large knives or unprotected blades if the design does not hold them securely; use sheaths or dedicated modules.
- Do not overload or use to support body weight; do not sit or stand on it.
- Do not expose to the dishwasher, oven or microwave unless explicitly stated by the product.
- Do not use outdoors or in very humid areas for prolonged periods.
