Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Finger trapping when opening, closing or adjusting doors and lids.
- Doors/panels falling or coming loose due to loose fixings, incorrect installation or overloading.
- Cuts or scratches from edges, burrs or protruding screws.
- Impact injuries from sudden closing, especially on heavy lids or models with spring tension.
- Injuries during tool use (flying debris, slips, noise) during assembly.
- Deterioration due to moisture or corrosion that may reduce the strength of the fittings.
- Ingestion or inhalation of small parts (screws, pins) by children or pets.
Safe use
- Read and follow the product instructions before assembling or making adjustments.
- Check that the fitting is suitable for the furniture type, material and the size of the door or lid.
- Work on a stable surface; hold the door/lid firmly during installation and adjustment.
- Wear protective gloves and safety goggles when handling metal parts and when drilling or screwing.
- Use screws and fixings compatible with the fittings and the furniture material; do not force threads or use damaged screws.
- Drill accurately with the workpiece secured to prevent slipping or splintering.
- After assembly, open and close slowly to check alignment and clearances before normal use.
- Keep children and pets away from the work area and from loose parts during assembly.
Storage and maintenance
- Store uninstalled fittings in their packaging in a dry, ventilated place, away from moisture and dust.
- Keep screws and small parts in sealed and labelled bags or boxes to prevent loss and misuse.
- Periodically clean the fittings with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive or corrosive products.
- Periodically check screw tightness and the condition of hinges and plates; re-tighten if there is any play.
- Replace any part that is bent, cracked, rusted or has excessive play; do not attempt to straighten it.
- If necessary, lightly lubricate the pivot points and wipe away any excess to avoid staining the furniture.
- In damp areas (bathrooms, kitchens), watch for signs of corrosion and act promptly to prevent failures.
Restrictions on use
- Installation and adjustments by adults only; do not allow children to handle the fittings.
- Do not use hinges or fittings as anchor points, for hanging, climbing or supporting loads other than opening/closing the furniture.
- Do not exceed the recommended weight or size for the door/lid; overloading may cause detachment.
- Do not modify, bend, drill or sand the parts; do not mix components from different systems or brands.
- Do not use these products outdoors or in very humid environments unless they are designed for that purpose.
- Do not place hands or objects in the closing path; guide the door or lid into position without slamming.
- For furniture used by children, exercise extra supervision and prevent lids from closing abruptly.
