Safe use
- Read the manufacturer's instructions and observe the stated maximum capacity.
- Choose a location that does not interfere with the opening and closing of doors or drawers.
- Use fixings compatible with the furniture material; for adhesive models, clean the surface and allow the curing time before hanging ties.
- Before drilling, check there are no cables or pipes in the area.
- Install at a comfortable height; if you need to reach up, use a sturdy step stool or stepladder.
- Distribute the weight evenly and load it gradually after installation to verify the fixing is secure.
- Keep fingers away from runners and hinges; do not force it if it rubs or jams, readjust the installation.
- For over-door models, check the door opens and closes without rubbing and that the edge is not marked; fit the protective pads if included.
- For electric models, use the recommended batteries or adaptors, keep the unit dry and switch it off/unplug it when not in use.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically check screws, anchors and adhesives; retighten or replace if you detect any looseness.
- Clean with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish or stain fabrics.
- Wipe up any water splashes and avoid hanging damp garments to prevent rust or mould.
- Inspect and remove burrs or sharp points that could snag; if they cannot be corrected, stop using it.
- Lightly lubricate runners or bearings only if the manufacturer specifies.
- Keep away from sources of direct heat and areas with persistent condensation.
- For electric models, replace the batteries when depleted and remove them if the product will not be used for a prolonged period; watch for signs of overheating or leakage.
- Check the alignment of retractable rails and the condition of stops or brakes if included.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the tie rack as a step, a handle to pull on or to hang from.
- Do not exceed the weight or number of ties recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not install outdoors or in areas with constant steam or vapour if the product is not designed for it.
- Do not modify the product or its fixing system, and do not mix incompatible screws, fixings or anchors.
- Do not place it next to sources of intense heat.
- Keep the product and small parts out of the reach of children; supervise use if there are moving parts.
- Do not use the accessory if it shows looseness, deformation, cracks or, for electric models, a damaged cable/adaptor.
- Do not mount it on fragile, hollow or damaged surfaces that cannot support the load.
