Towel Radiators
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Hot surfaces that may cause burns from prolonged contact, especially in children.
- Overheating and potential ignition if covered completely with textiles or overloaded.
- Risk of electric shock in electric models if the wiring, the control unit or the junction box becomes wet or is damaged.
- Water leaks in models connected to the heating system, with possible risk of burns, slips and property damage.
- Detachment or falling if the wall fixing is inadequate or the wall structure is unsuitable.
- Impacts and trapping injuries when handling the radiator during installation or unpacking.
- Damage to walls or tiles if drilling without first checking for hidden services.
Safe use
- Install and connect the radiator in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions; electrical or plumbing work must be carried out by qualified personnel.
- Before drilling, check the wall strength and that there are no hidden cables or pipes; use wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall type.
- Do not cover the surface completely; hang towels loosely so as not to block heat dissipation.
- Keep flammable materials (aerosols, solvents, curtains or furniture) away from hot areas.
- In bathrooms, avoid direct splashes onto electrical components and observe safety distances from baths and showers.
- Do not stand or sit on it or hang additional weight; use it only to heat or warm towels.
- For plug-in models, connect directly to an earthed wall socket; do not use extension leads or multi-socket adaptors.
- Switch off and allow to cool before cleaning; use a soft, slightly damp cloth and do not use water jets.
- On first start-up or after a period without use, ventilate the room and increase the temperature gradually.
Storage and maintenance
- Before installation, store it indoors in a dry place, in its packaging, protected from impacts, moisture and dust.
- Do not stack weight on the radiator or rest it on tubes or elements that may deform.
- Clean when cold with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive products, scouring pads and corrosive cleaners.
- Periodically check the wall fixing, brackets and screws; tighten if you detect any looseness.
- Check for leaks and corrosion at the connections; in water systems, bleed air if required and always with the circuit cold.
- For electric models, inspect the cable, plug and controls; if you detect a burning smell, sparking or abnormal heating, switch off and do not use until it has been checked by qualified personnel.
- If it is not going to be used for a season, disconnect the power or close the valves and protect against frost in unheated rooms.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for drying garments treated with solvents, oils or flammable substances.
- Do not cover with covers or pile up thick textiles that completely block ventilation.
- Do not use outdoors or in areas exposed to rain or direct dripping.
- Do not modify the appliance, the wiring, the plug, the valves or the thermostat; do not drill the radiator body for accessories not intended.
- Do not use if it is loose, unstable, leaking or if the cable is damaged.
- Do not allow use without supervision by children or persons with reduced thermal sensitivity.
- Do not use aerosol air fresheners, solvents or spray cleaners near the radiator when it is hot.
