Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Leaks or minor overflows if the isolation valve is not closed before installing or adjusting the mechanism.
  • Knocks and breakage of the cistern lid or the toilet ceramic when handling the cistern.
  • Minor cuts or pinching when handling plastic or ceramic edges or tools.
  • Damage to threads and seals due to over-tightening or misaligned parts.
  • Continuous water loss due to worn or misfitted seals.
  • Sticking button or continuous flushing if the mechanism is incorrectly adjusted.
  • Skin or eye irritation from contact with harsh cleaners used inside the cistern.

Safe use

  • Check compatibility with your cistern (actuation type, button position and approximate dimensions) before installing.
  • Close the isolation valve and empty the cistern by pressing the button before disassembling any parts.
  • Remove and place the cistern lid with both hands, and rest it on a stable, padded surface to prevent breakage.
  • Wear gloves and eye protection if cleaning the inside of the cistern or handling chemicals.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions; do not force fittings. Fit clean seals without twisting, and seat them correctly.
  • Tighten nuts by hand, then finish with a tool without over-tightening; over-tightening can cause leaks or cracks.
  • When finished, slowly open the isolation valve and perform several test flushes, checking for drips at joints and pipework.
  • Avoid high-concentration chlorine tablets or additives inside the cistern, as they can damage rubber and plastic parts.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store the mechanism and its seals in a dry, ventilated place, protected from sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Keep small parts in their bag until assembly to avoid losing them or contaminating sealing surfaces.
  • Periodically clean the inside of the cistern to remove limescale and sediment using non-abrasive, compatible products.
  • Check seals and washers if you notice drips, continuous noise or a slow flush; replace parts that are hardened, deformed or cracked.
  • Handle the lid carefully at each inspection and refit it correctly to avoid accidental drops.
  • After any intervention, observe the toilet for a few minutes to confirm there are no leaks or continuous flushing.
  • If you will not use the bathroom for an extended period, consider closing the isolation valve to prevent unexpected leaks.

Usage restrictions

  • Installation and handling only by adults with the necessary basic DIY skills.
  • Do not use in tanks other than compatible toilet cisterns, and do not force adaptation to models not intended.
  • Do not mix parts from different mechanisms unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not drill, cut or modify components of the mechanism.
  • Do not use the flush button for support or force it; avoid operating it with the lid removed to prevent splashes.
  • Keep small parts, tools and cleaners out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use very harsh cleaners or permanent colourants in the cistern water, as they can shorten the service life of the seals.
