Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Shower handset or holder falling due to poor fixing, with a risk of injury or surface damage.
- Finger trapping when adjusting the angle or height on holders with a moving part or sliding rail.
- Deterioration from limescale, corrosion or ageing that can loosen the fixing or fracture components.
- Damage to tiles or to concealed pipework or wiring when drilling for screw-fixed models.
- Adhesive or suction models detaching on porous, dirty or damp surfaces.
- Spray outside the shower area if the handset is misdirected, increasing the risk of slipping.
Safe use
- Check the holder is compatible with the shower handset and adhere to the manufacturer's stated load limit.
- For screw-fixed holders, use wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall type; do not overtighten to avoid cracking the tiles.
- Before drilling, check for the presence of pipes or cables with a suitable detector and mark the positions accurately.
- For adhesive or suction holders, clean, degrease and thoroughly dry the surface; observe the stated curing time and test the hold before using with water.
- Ensure the handset sits securely in the cradle and check stability with a light pull before each use.
- Aim the head so the spray does not point outside the shower tray, and reduce the flow when adjusting the position.
- Handle moving parts with your hand kept away from hinges or rails to avoid pinching.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid scouring pads, abrasive products, acids or concentrated bleach that can weaken the material.
- Dry the surfaces after use to reduce limescale build-up and maintain grip on adhesive or suction models.
- Periodically check the tightness of screws, fixings, suction cups or adhesives; readjust or replace parts if you notice any looseness.
- Remove limescale deposits with bathroom-safe products, following the manufacturer's instructions, and rinse thoroughly.
- Replace the holder if you detect cracks, deformation, loose parts that cannot be secured, or recurring loss of grip.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the holder as a grab rail, nor to support your body weight or that of others.
- Do not hang towels, baskets or other additional items that increase the load beyond the intended rating.
- Do not install adhesive or suction models on rough, porous or painted surfaces, on tiles with wide grout lines, or where there is persistent moisture.
- Do not force the adjustment mechanism; if it resists, clean and inspect it before attempting to move it.
- Do not allow children to adjust the height or angle without supervision to prevent pinching or the handset falling.
- Do not use the holder if it is loose or unstable; repair or replace it before using again.
