Usage Warnings

Shower Arms

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Detachment of the assembly if the arm is not properly anchored or the wall/ceiling does not provide adequate support, with a risk of impact injuries.
  • Leaks or drips from incorrectly fitted seals or damaged threads, which may result in slippery floors and water damage.
  • Cuts or pinching when handling metal parts, edges, threads and tools during installation.
  • Head or shoulder impacts if the arm protrudes excessively or is positioned at an unsuitable height.
  • Damage when drilling due to striking concealed services (pipes or cables) within walls or ceilings.
  • High-pressure splashes or very hot water on first opening after installation or maintenance.

Safe use

  • Shut off the water supply before installing, replacing or adjusting the arm, and release any residual pressure.
  • Check the arm's compatibility with the connection point and the shower head (mounting type, thread type and supported weight).
  • Start threading by hand and tighten gradually; avoid forcing or over-tightening to prevent damage to threads and seals.
  • Use seals and sealing materials recommended by the manufacturer, and replace any deteriorated components.
  • Protect the finish when using tools, for example by placing a cloth between the spanner and the part.
  • If drilling or anchoring is required, use fixings suitable for the wall/ceiling material and wear safety glasses and gloves.
  • Before normal use, open the water slowly, check there are no leaks, and ensure the assembly is stable and correctly aligned.
  • Do not lean on the arm or hang towels or other items from it; do not use it as a support point.

Storage and maintenance

  • Keep the arm in its packaging until installation, in a dry place protected from impacts and dust.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft cloth and mild soap; avoid scouring pads or abrasive products that could damage the finish and seals.
  • Dry the arm after showering when possible to reduce staining and surface corrosion.
  • Periodically check the tightness, the condition of the seals and any drips; adjust or replace components if necessary.
  • If you detect rust, cracks or looseness, stop using it until the installation has been checked or the affected parts replaced.
  • In hard-water areas, monitor limescale build-up at the joint with the shower head and carry out gentle descaling when required.

Usage restrictions

  • Product intended for shower use; do not use as a grab bar, weight-bearing support, towel rail or hanger.
  • Do not modify, bend, drill or apply coatings to the arm unless specified by the manufacturer.
  • Do not install outdoors or in highly saline/humid environments unless expressly specified by the manufacturer.
  • Do not combine with shower heads whose size or weight exceed the recommendations of the arm or support manufacturer.
  • Keep small parts (screws, seals, trim caps) out of reach of children and pets during installation.
  • If you lack plumbing experience or the installation involves working on walls or ceilings, it may be safer to hire a qualified installer.
  • Avoid using the assembly at pressures or temperatures outside those recommended by the shower system.
