Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Towel rail detaching due to improper fixing or poorly applied adhesive, with risk of injury or damage.
  • Injury from using it to support body weight, to climb or to swing.
  • Knocks or snagging on protruding parts if installed in narrow passageways or behind doors.
  • Finger pinching on models with a hinged ring or moving parts.
  • Loosening of fixings due to persistent humidity and condensation, which may cause the accessory to fall.
  • Damage when drilling if hidden pipes or cables in the wall are pierced.
  • Slip hazard due to drips from very wet towels onto the bathroom floor.

Safe use

  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use fixings or adhesives suitable for the wall type or covering.
  • Check that the installation area is free of pipes and cables before drilling.
  • Observe the stated maximum load and distribute the weight evenly; avoid hanging very heavy items unless specified.
  • Choose a location outside the door swing and where it does not obstruct passage or encroach on shower or bath areas.
  • After installation, gently check firmness before regular use and recheck it if you notice any looseness.
  • Wring out or shake towels to reduce dripping and excessive weight on the towel rail.
  • On models with moving parts, operate gently and keep fingers away from pinch points.

Storage and maintenance

  • Before installation, store the product in a dry place protected from knocks; keep screws and small parts together and out of the reach of children.
  • Clean periodically with a soft cloth and neutral soap; avoid abrasive or chlorine-based products that could damage the finishes.
  • Wipe away splashes and ventilate the bathroom to reduce humidity that affects metals, fixings and adhesives.
  • Periodically check the tightness of screws and the condition of the adhesive; retighten or replace components if you detect any looseness.
  • If you notice corrosion, cracks or loose edges, stop using the towel rail until it is repaired or replaced.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the towel rail as a grab rail, step or support for body weight.
  • Do not exceed the load capacity or hang rigid or very heavy objects.
  • Do not install on surfaces that do not allow a secure fixing (loose coverings, walls in very poor condition or with structural damp).
  • If fixed with adhesive, do not load the towel rail before the curing time recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not place the towel rail next to intense heat sources or directly on radiators, to avoid burns and degradation of adhesives.
  • Do not use outdoors unless expressly stated on the product.
  • Supervise children to prevent them from hanging from or playing with the towel rail.
