Concealed Cisterns
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Water leaks from poorly sealed connections that can cause damage from damp and mould.
- Breakage of the cistern, pipes or fittings due to impacts, frost or overpressure.
- Detachment or instability of the assembly if the frame is not anchored correctly or is overloaded (especially with wall-hung toilets).
- Accidental drilling into pipework or cables when drilling the wall in the cistern area.
- Injuries from handling heavy units, tools or sharp edges.
- Malfunction due to limescale or dirt build-up in valves and mechanisms (continuous filling, noises, poor flushing).
- Internal condensation that may cause drips or damp if the area is not well ventilated.
Safe use
- Review the manufacturer's instructions and confirm compatibility between the frame, cistern, toilet pan and flush plate.
- Verify that the wall or structure can support the load and use fixings appropriate to the partition material.
- Keep the service opening behind the flush plate accessible; do not seal it permanently.
- Before closing the wall, test for watertightness and correct filling and flushing operation.
- Close the stopcock and purge the line before connecting to prevent particles entering the valves.
- Handle with assistance and use gloves and eye protection when cutting, drilling or handling parts.
- When installing the flush plate, do not force the push-buttons or guides; adjust gently.
- Do not hang accessories or shelves on the frame area unless provided for by the system.
- Do not place tablets or harsh products inside the cistern; they may damage seals and mechanisms.
- In cold areas, avoid installing in unheated spaces or where there is a risk of frost.
Storage and maintenance
- Store components in a dry, clean place protected from impacts, dust, frost and direct sunlight until installation.
- Keep the packaging and protective materials to prevent deformation or damage to the frame and connections.
- Do not stack or place weight on the cistern or the frame.
- For maintenance, shut off the water. Access via the service opening for periodic inspections for damp and proper operation.
- Clean filters and descale valves with mild, non-abrasive products; rinse thoroughly.
- Replace worn seals, floats or mechanisms with model-compatible spare parts.
- Clean the flush plate with soft cloths; avoid solvents, chlorine or scouring pads that may scratch.
- If you detect continuous dripping, noise or abnormal consumption, shut off the water supply and check as soon as possible to prevent damage.
- After drilling or nearby works, check that the pipework or the cistern has not been affected.
Restrictions on use
- Installation by personnel qualified in plumbing and wall systems is recommended.
- Not suitable for outdoor use or areas with uncontrolled risk of frost.
- Do not exceed the assembly's maximum loads; do not sit on or lean against the flush plate. For wall-hung toilets, observe the maximum weight specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not drill the wall in the area occupied by the cistern and pipework/cables; use templates and detectors before drilling.
- Do not modify, cut or drill the cistern, the frame or the valves.
- Do not connect to non-potable water sources or to pressures outside the range specified by the manufacturer.
- Keep small parts, tools and the work area out of reach of children and pets during installation.
