Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Electric shock or short circuits due to incorrect connections, damaged cables or faulty insulation.
  • Overheating and risk of fire when powering the strip while coiled, covered or installed without adequate ventilation.
  • Damage from moisture, condensation or splashes if the strip or its connections are not protected for that environment.
  • Falls or detachment due to poor adhesion, with possible cable damage and risk of sparks at loose connectors.
  • Glare and eye strain from direct exposure to intense light at close range.
  • Faults and short circuits when cutting outside the marked points, piercing the strip or forcing very tight bends.

Safe use

  • Disconnect power before installing, handling or cleaning. Do not connect the strip directly to the mains without its suitable power supply.
  • Use the power supply, controllers and compatible accessories specified by the manufacturer. Avoid makeshift splices and ensure the connectors are secure.
  • Do not power the strip while it is coiled, nor cover it with materials that trap heat. Ensure ventilation, preferably with a profile or stable surface that aids heat dissipation.
  • Cut only at the marked points and do not pierce or nail the strip. Make gentle curves without forcing sharp corners.
  • For bathrooms, kitchens or outdoors, use strips and connectors with protection appropriate to the environment and keep the joints out of direct contact with water.
  • Fix the strip onto clean, dry, dust-free surfaces. If the adhesive is not sufficient, reinforce with clips or compatible profiles.
  • Keep wiring tidy and protected from being stepped on or pulled. Avoid routing cables through hot areas, sharp edges or doorways.
  • Avoid looking directly at the LEDs at close range; adjust brightness with compatible dimmers to reduce glare.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store in a cool, dry place, on its reel, without crushing or over-bending, and away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Disconnect and allow to cool before cleaning. Remove dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth; do not use abrasive products or immerse the strip.
  • Periodically check the adhesive, cables and connectors. If you notice discolouration, flickering or a burning smell, switch off and replace the affected section or component.
  • Ensure ventilation for the power supply and controller; do not cover them or enclose them in unventilated spaces.
  • During transport or handling, hold by the strip or profile, avoiding pulling on the cables or connectors.

Usage restrictions

  • Installation and handling by adults. Not a toy; keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use inside aquariums, showers or for immersion unless the product expressly states so and the connections are watertight.
  • Do not place on readily flammable materials or inside enclosed spaces that prevent heat dissipation.
  • Do not daisy-chain lengths or loads beyond the manufacturer’s recommendation, and do not mix incompatible controllers or dimmers.
  • Do not modify the strip (stripping coatings, piercing, soldering without expertise) or repair it with tape or temporary splices.
  • Do not use as safety or emergency lighting.
