Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Inhalation of vapours and spray mists, with possible respiratory irritation, dizziness or headache.
- Skin and eye irritation from direct contact; possible sensitisation in predisposed individuals.
- Flammability of solvent-based primers and aerosols; risk of fire in the presence of sparks, flames or hot surfaces.
- Risk of bursting in pressurised containers (aerosols) if heated or punctured.
- Dust generation when sanding dry coats; risk of inhalation of fine particles.
- Spills causing slippery surfaces and stains that are difficult to remove.
- Accidental overspray onto unprotected areas (glass, floors, textiles).
- Environmental harm from discharges into drains, soil or waterways.
Safe use
- Read and follow the instructions on the label before starting.
- Work with good ventilation; keep doors and windows open or use extraction.
- Wear gloves, goggles and protective clothing; use a respirator suitable for vapours or particles according to the application method.
- Keep flames, sparks, cigarettes and equipment that could cause ignition away from the work area; turn off gas pilot lights where applicable.
- Prepare the surface: clean, dry and free of dust, grease or mould; do not apply over visible moisture.
- Shake or stir only as directed by the manufacturer; do not mix with other products or non-recommended solvents.
- Test in a discreet area to check compatibility and any colour change.
- If spraying, protect nearby areas, avoid draughts and do not direct the spray towards people or animals.
- Use ladders safely and avoid overreaching; keep the area clear to prevent trips.
- Immediately clean drips and spills with absorbent material and ventilate until dry.
Storage and maintenance
- Keep in its original container, tightly closed and upright, with the label visible.
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat, flames, sparks and direct sunlight.
- Avoid extreme temperatures and freezing; check the product label for the recommended conditions.
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Do not pierce or burn aerosol containers, even when they appear empty.
- Check the condition of the container periodically; if it shows swelling, rust or leaks, do not use it.
- Clean tools according to the manufacturer's instructions and collect waste; do not pour residues or solvents down the drain.
- Handle cloths or sponges soaked with primer or solvents with care: they can self-heat; spread them out to dry in a safe place and place them in a lidded metal container until disposal at a collection point.
- If dilution is permitted, prepare only the amount required and do not store mixtures for long periods.
Restrictions of use
- Intended for use by adults; keep children and pets away during application and drying.
- Do not use in spaces without adequate ventilation or in areas with poor air exchange.
- Do not smoke or use open flames during application and drying.
- Do not apply on hot surfaces, near heat sources or in the presence of sparks.
- Do not use on surfaces that will come into contact with food, drinking water, aquariums or toys, unless expressly stated on the product.
- Do not ingest or apply to skin; in case of contact, wash the area with plenty of water.
- Do not decant into unlabelled or food-use containers.
- People with asthma, respiratory allergies, who are pregnant, or who are highly sensitive to solvents should minimise exposure and consider having someone else handle it.
- Stop use and ventilate the area if dizziness, severe irritation or difficulty breathing occur.
