Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electric shock during installation or when handling wires and covers.
- Overheating and even fire due to overload, loose connections or lack of ventilation.
- Damage to lamps, flicker or buzzing due to incompatibility with the lamp type or driver.
- Short circuits and sparks due to incorrect wiring or degraded insulation.
- Loss of control or faults due to moisture, dust or splashes if the model is not suitable for that location.
- Discomfort to photosensitive individuals due to flicker at low brightness levels.
- Hot surfaces after prolonged use.
Safe use
- Switch off the power at the consumer unit before installing, replacing or adjusting the device.
- Check compatibility: use dimmable lamps and observe the total wattage recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not exceed the maximum load and avoid grouping too many luminaires on a single dimmer.
- Install according to the manufacturer's wiring diagram and ensure secure connections at the terminals.
- Allow space for ventilation; do not cover the dimmer with textiles or insulating materials.
- Use the device only in dry indoor areas or in damp areas/outdoors if the model is designed for it.
- If the dimmer allows minimum brightness adjustment, set it to prevent flicker.
- For connected models, protect the network with strong passwords and keep the app/firmware up to date from official sources.
Storage and maintenance
- Store uninstalled in a dry, clean and ventilated place, protected from impacts and extreme temperatures.
- Clean with a dry cloth with the power disconnected; do not use liquids or aerosols.
- Periodically check for signs of abnormality: excessive heat, burning smell, clicking or unusual flicker.
- After a surge, flooding or a drop, do not reuse without inspection; replace if it shows cracks or severe discolouration.
- For connected models, apply updates only from trusted sources and remove unused access permissions.
Usage restrictions
- Not suitable for handling by children; keep controls and modules out of their reach.
- Do not use with non-dimmable lamps, motors, fans or incompatible transformers unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not install or use in environments with humidity, dust or potentially explosive atmospheres if the product is not designed for it.
- Do not modify, open or bypass the device's safety features.
- Do not use it on emergency lighting circuits or where constant light without dimming is essential.
- If there is smoke, a burning smell or abnormal heating, disconnect at the consumer unit and do not use it again until the cause has been resolved.
