Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electric shock when installing, connecting or reconfiguring tracks, profiles and joiners with the circuit energised.
- Overheating or fire due to overload, loose connections, or covering profiles without adequate ventilation.
- The track or the luminaires falling due to insufficient fixings, an unsuitable surface or excessive weight.
- Cuts or punctures from sharp edges of metal profiles and when cutting or deburring parts.
- Damage from moisture or splashes if products not suitable for damp areas or outdoors are used.
- Sparks or short circuits due to pinched or stripped cables, or poorly seated connectors.
- Finger trapping when snapping luminaires or joiners into the track.
- Risk to children from small parts, caps and loose screws.
- Falls from height during installation if unstable ladders are used.
Safe use
- Switch off the power and verify that there is no voltage before installing, cleaning or changing configurations.
- Use connectors, joiners, diffusers and luminaires compatible with the track or profile system specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not exceed the load, length or number of luminaires recommended for each run of track.
- Secure the track or profile to a solid surface with fixings appropriate for the wall or ceiling material; ensure there is no looseness.
- Insert and lock the luminaires following the indicated orientation; check they are secure before energising.
- Keep cables free of tension, pinches and twists; protect ends with ferrules or insulating end caps.
- Do not connect or disconnect components with the circuit energised or with wet hands.
- Allow space for heat dissipation; do not cover profiles with textiles, foams or other insulators.
- In damp areas or outdoors, use only models with appropriate protection and apply the specified seals.
- If you need to cut profiles, use appropriate tools, gloves and goggles; remove burrs before assembly.
- Work at height with a stable ladder and, if possible, with another person to support long sections.
Storage and maintenance
- Store products in a dry, ventilated place, away from moisture, excessive dust and sources of heat.
- Keep screws, joiners and accessories in labelled bags or boxes to avoid loss and mixing.
- Do not stack items on diffusers or covers to prevent warping or cracking.
- Dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid abrasive products or solvents.
- Disconnect the power before cleaning or readjusting luminaires and joiners.
- Periodically check fixings and connectors; retighten screws and replace damaged parts (cracked diffusers, deformed connectors, frayed or stripped cables).
- If you notice a burning smell, discolouration or abnormal heating, switch off and inspect the installation before using it again.
Restrictions of use
- It is not a load-bearing element: do not hang objects from the track or profile, and do not lean on them.
- Do not use in areas with pressurised water jets, continuous steam or corrosive environments unless the product is designed for it.
- Do not mix components from different systems unless compatibility is specified.
- Do not modify or drill areas with conductors or contacts of the track; do not bypass protective devices or adapt connectors.
- Do not cover the assembly with insulating materials, nor recess it without providing the required ventilation.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets; supervise the area during installation.
- Installation and electrical connection must be carried out by suitably knowledgeable persons; if you lack experience, seek help from a qualified professional.
