Key risks
- Electric shock when installing, wiring or handling the strip light while live.
- Overheating and possible fire if the luminaire is covered or incompatible lamps/tubes are used.
- The strip light falling due to poor fixing, with risk of personal injury or property damage.
- Breakage of tubes or glass diffusers, with risk of cuts and exposure to fine dust.
- Damage from moisture or splashes if installed in areas not suitable for the model.
- Glare or eye strain due to improper light orientation.
- Hot surfaces during operation on some models.
Safe use
- Switch off the power before installing, changing tubes/bulbs or cleaning the strip light. Do not handle with wet hands.
- Check the tube/lamp type and the maximum wattage permitted by the strip light. Do not force lampholders or connectors.
- For fixed installations without a plug, carry out the electrical connection in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and by qualified personnel.
- Use suitable wall plugs and screws for the wall or ceiling material and check they can support the weight of the strip light.
- Do not cover the luminaire or obstruct ventilation. Keep a distance from curtains, paper or other flammable materials.
- In damp areas or outdoors, use only models expressly marked as suitable and seal the cable entries as per the instructions.
- Do not modify the wiring, do not make improvised splices, and avoid pinching cables with the fixings.
- Adjust the orientation to avoid direct glare. Allow it to cool before touching it after use.
- If you notice a burning smell, sparks, abnormal flicker or unusual buzzing, disconnect immediately and do not use it again until it has been inspected or replaced.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the strip light in a dry, clean and ventilated place. Avoid moisture and impacts, especially to glass parts.
- Clean with the unit disconnected. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth; do not spray cleaners directly or use abrasive products.
- Periodically check fixing screws, diffusers, lampholders, cables and connectors. If damaged, do not use it.
- Keep diffusers and fins clean to promote heat dissipation and uniform light.
- When replacing tubes or lamps, handle with care; place damaged items in a container and avoid contact with fragments and dust.
- Avoid storing in places with extreme temperatures or in direct sunlight for long periods.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use it in explosive atmospheres, environments with heavy dust/corrosion, or near sources of extreme heat, unless the product is specifically designed for it.
- Do not install inside enclosed furniture without ventilation, nor cover the strip light with textiles or insulating materials.
- Do not hang objects from the strip light or use it as a support.
- Do not use the strip light if parts are missing, the cable is frayed, the housing or diffuser is cracked, or if there are signs of internal moisture.
- Keep children and pets away during installation, tube replacement and maintenance tasks.
- Do not immerse the strip light or clean it with high-pressure water.
- Do not use improvised adapters or makeshift jumpers to daisy-chain multiple strip lights if they are not designed for that connection.
